Not my default choice but there are some good strategic reasons i.e. being sneaky to start an Angular 2 project in ES5. Surprisingly pretty straight forward once you learn the secret handshake.

I really dig how Angular 2 is just a JavaScript classes wrapped in an Angular Metadata hug! I find the code to be much cleaner and easier to read.

Here is a really gentle introduction to Angular 2 in the context of a simple but easy to extend web application.

This is a good read in favor of ES6 class syntax, I agree with it and I think it fits with the thoughts from +Lukas Ruebbelke and +Mike McElroy.

Angular Material is easily my new favorite thing! Material Design is such a thoughtful way to approach design and interactions and Angular Material puts it on easy mode for us.

Huge shout out to +Thomas Burleson +Jeremy Elbourn and +Marcy Sutton for the amazing work put into this project.

Redux has fundamentally changed the way that I approach +AngularJS  applications. Couple that with the power of observables and you have @ngrx/store by the wonder kid +Rob Wormald. I have the new programmer feeling all over again!

"My personal experience is that Angular 2 is much easier to learn because the Angular team has distilled AngularJS 1 best practices into a much simpler, less nuanced framework."

Nice!

Nice overview of Angular Material by Matt Spaulding @ TopTal. In his article "Build Ultra-Modern Web Apps with Angular Material" Matt even picks his top 9 best Angular Material directives.

All the beauty of Material Design with all the power of Angular!

Here is a screencast that I shot explaining how to get started with Angular Material from square one.

Hello Angular Material Angular Material is a robust implementation of the Material Design specification that perfectly captures aesthetic principles of the initiative in an impressive collection of easy to use components and services. My first attraction to Angular Material was based on the value proposition of easy to use Angular components that I could...

Dr Eric was able to undo a massive amount of neural tension that was the result of my sedentary job. The most impressive part is that I gained an incredible amount of mobility which translated to significant performance gains in the gym. It is amazing how much more you can snatch when you can land in a stable position!

Apparently Cool Cuts 4 Kids doesn't know how to properly staff their facility. One stylist for the entire place resulted in two walk outs in 20 minutes. We patiently waited for 30 minutes only to have a scheduled appointed jump to the head of the line. Don't bother... total amateur hour.
