Today I received my new WindowsPhone Lumia 1020 and i'm happy to report that there are  two unofficial apps to control our beloved Sphero using this platform. Not as fancy as the official but it works.

I will try to reach Sphero in order to get some kind of "financial support" in order to bring all the official iOS apps to WindowsPhone 8.

If you happen to have a Windows 8.1 tablet as I do, and you have VisualStudio 2013 then you might want to download and compile the sample app that resides on this github repo from the new Windows 8 SDK for our Sphero robot ... let the code spin!

Let me share with you this nice tutorial for video streaming with our beloved BBB... Thanks +Derek Molloy  for the video :-)
I have just released a new video in which I look at video streaming using the #beagleboneblack  using: RTP, UDP unicasting, and UDP multicasting, which allows one to many streaming. In all of these examples I used the VLC media player to display the video data. The final part of this video goes on to describe how you can build your own software implementation that can display the data using libvlc and the Qt framework. The advantage of doing this is that you can add your own data processing and controlling functionality into the video display. You could even develop code for capturing multiple streams simultaneously and processing the data -- for example, for stereo imaging. The full Page on this topic is available at my blog at: http://derekmolloy.ie/beaglebone/beaglebone-black-streaming-video-tutorial/

There are lots of projects I've been told to review but this one is awesome. There is Marco Schwartz who writes on http://openhomeautomation.net/ and he's running a project on Indiegogo in order to get funds for create a very specialized training course in order to get our home automated using RaspberryPi, BeagleboneBlack and Arduino. Best of all: will be opensource!

If you have couple of bucks don't hesitate on sharing on this campaign because will be for a good cause. Here's the link. http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/building-an-open-source-home-automation-system
