This article is definitely worth reading.  If you don't have two-factor authentication enable for your Google account, you should do so now!  It's also worth passing this along as a cautionary tale to any friends or family you know that haven't enabled it yet.

More info about enabling this support can be found here:

As long as you have smartphone that runs the Google Authenticator app you are fine. If you rely on being called by Google that can be a problem, yes.

I was there on Friday, so not quite during the landing. But the Johnson Space Center is definitely worth a visit in any case.

After a very good start, the rate of signatures to the open access petition at the White House has slowed down to the point where, unless it speeds up again, the target of 25,000 will not obviously be reached, and ceratinly not surpassed by miles -- which was the hope. There have been just over 100 signatures since the beginning of today (which, by my calculations, means eight hours ago in Washington DC). If you haven't signed, then, unless you disagree with the petition, please take the short time needed to do so. And if you have, how about spreading the word?

I know this is already the second time that Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter's HiRISE camera has done this feat (first time was May 2008, photo of Phoenix lander), but this image of Curiosity descending under (supersonic) parachute is absolutely incredible. Kudos, NASA/JPL!

Yep, I did an internship with the safe browsing team two years ago. The project I worked on was a lot of fun :-)
