Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in January, all the staff were very helpful and friendly, the food was brilliant, had a lovely evening meal and breakfast each morning. The hotel itself is an old building and is showing it's age in places. All parts of the hotel were clean but certain areas needed more maintenance work carried out. This did not put me off because like I said, it is an old building so keeping it tip top must be an ongoing task. Overall I would recommend this hotel based on the staff and food quality.

Run down and not premium while premium priced. The carpets looked like they were last changed in the 80s and the place has the feel of an underfunded care home rather than an expensive hotel. I would never stay at this hotel again and actually accepted the offer of a refund. To top it all off the manager was rude and abrasive. I got the feeling they were generally not keen on people from outside the Isle of Wight.

Very nice except the food ... staff very good ... rooms acceptable ... bar and lounge nice ... indoor pool is nice , hot tub is a bit small for the size of hotel ... outdoor pool seems good ( too cold to use at the time of year we stayed ) ... gardens lovely ... The real let down was the food, small portions and poor quality ( it's ok if you like eggs ) the room was reasonably clean with an amazing view of gardens and sea ... as an overall experience 4/5 ... would have given 5 if not let down by the poor food.
