Netflix stuffed its video service into an NES cartridge http://zite.to/1F8RTpS

Netflix's experimental Hack Days often lead to wonderfully off-the-wall projects, but its latest might have produced the best example yet. Engineers Guy

Pretty sure my daughters didn't understand my explanation of pi, but they were more than happy to celebrate ‪#‎piday‬ with a slice of French Silk. Happy Pi Day, everyone!

Why Math geeks are so excited about March 14, 2015, at 9:26:53 http://zite.to/1BDxBCs

Pi Day is a holiday for math (and pie) enthusiasts to celebrate their love of numbers. And this year marks a once-in-a-century occurrence. Saturday at 9:26:53 a.m. the date and time will read 3.14.15 9:26:53. That’s 10 digits of pi.

Introduction
Grew up in a small town south of Peoria, IL. Played in the University of Illinois Marching Illini while getting a bachelor's degree in mathematics and master's in mathematics education. I started teaching math right out of school, with some of my best experiences coming as the coach of the math team at Morton High School (finished with a 5 year streak at the top public school in Illinois and a state championship in 2012). I've also become an authority on the TI-Nspire graphing calculator and software. I've written a couple of Kindle books about it and have a blog that features lots of information about the Nspire.

After 13 years in the classroom, I've recently made the jump to the corporate world. I'm now working in a data science role at a Fortune 50 insurance company headquartered in the Midwest. I'm one of the first crop of students to complete the new Johns Hopkins Data Science Specialization on Coursera. My studies there focused on R. I'm looking forward to learning more about Python and Hadoop as I begin my work in industry.

Somewhere along the way, I also lucked into marrying the girls of my dreams, who although less captivated with mathematics and technology, has been willing to accommodate my interests. We have two wonderful little girls and attend Imago Dei Church in Peoria, IL, where I am a part of the leadership team.
