This workshop-type session shows how to map your customer journey in a way that reveals what it’s really like to do business with you today, what it should be like tomorrow and how to prioritise what you need to do to close the gaps.

Please note this is a city centre venue, selected for public transport and walking accessibility.

If you are travelling by car, please allow additional time for traffic and parking. The nearest public car parks are @Bristol and on Jacobs Wells Road. On-street parking on St George's Road and College Street car park is limited to two hours.

Top tips to help marketers demystify the finance process

All too often marketing is seen as a cost, not an investment. At all career levels, it’s essential that marketers have a real understanding of finance. During this interactive session you learn to be comfortable with some of the key terms that are used by accountants and finance executives. The special language of finance will no longer be the sole preserve of accountants. We also highlight some of the key things to look out for in a balance sheet as well as raise awareness of subtle judgements that can have a big impact on the profit or loss of an organisation. 

Speaker: Matilda Crossman Chartered Marketer (MCIM) and Chartered Accountant (FCCA). Matilda is one of a only a handful of people globally who are ‘double chartered’ and holds both the Chartered Marketer and Chartered Accountant designations. Matilda teaches for a variety of professional qualifications including CIM, ACCA and CIMA as well as high-level tailored programmes in strategic marketing, performance management and advanced finance and management accounting. She has delivered training programmes in over 15 countries in locations as varied as Brunei, the Netherlands and South Africa. 

Matilda’s business experience is focussed on the consultancy field. She initially worked for the one of the big four consultancy companies and for the last 15 years has worked within the professional education arena. Matilda is also an alumni of Harvard Business School.

My belief is that the strategy upon which digital marketing is based, does not differ from 'traditional marketing'. 'Digital' is a channel that requires a different skill-set for implementation, but the marketing fundamentals are essentially the same.
