THE TIDE IS A LONG WAY OUT
On Cornwall's north coast, at Mawgan Porth, the tide rolls out a long way leaving behind a field of damp sand and an occasional small pool of seawater. Just smell the air ...

Such a lovely place to visit
TIGHTLY PACKED FISHERMEN'S COTTAGES
Fishing was traditionally the occupation for families of the lovely village of Polperro - today though tourism has taken over. Over the years, it has also been known for smuggling - right back to the 12th century. This was probably at its height in the18th century when Britain's wars with America and France meant there was high taxation of many imported goods.

It's a lovely place to visit with wonderful walks along the coastline.

A GREENNESS SPRINGS TO LIFE
Walking along the Pentewan trail all was green - even the river took on a similar shade - and only the old bridge was able to break up the greenness.

Photo for #joinindaily set by +Johnny Wills - today's theme 'Bridges'.

THE HOME OF ENGLISH SURFING
Fistral Beach in Newquay claims to be one of the best for surfing, because of its consistency and quality of surf. There is a lovely sandy beach - and over looking proceedings from on high is the Headland Hotel.

The hotel received its first guests in June 1900 and has hosted royalty. King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra were the first to stay at the hotel in the early 1900s. The current Prince of Wales (Prince Charles) and the Princess Royal (Princess Ann) have also enjoyed several visits - at least I presume they enjoyed themselves!

SUNSHINE IN CORNWALL
Oh yes, it's sunshine again in Cornwall today, the sea is bluer, the grass is greener and all is well with the world - well, it feels that way! Actually, yesterday was the hottest April day in England since 1949.

The photo was taken from the road that leads from Pentewan towards Mevagissey, always a lovely view whatever the weather.

Heligan Gardens such an interesting place to visit in so many ways
TALKING A LOAD OF OLD COBBLERS
Old tools galore at The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Cornwall. One I noticed was the cobblers last on the bench. I can remember my Dad having one of these when I was a child. But, who nowadays repairs their own shoes! We seem to have become a throwaway society.

PADSTOW IN THE SUMMER SEASON
Today's photo is for #joinindaily set by +Johnny Wills - today's theme is 'Busy Photos'. And, yes, it can get very busy around Padstow Harbour at the height of the summer season.

I think I should have known that, thank you for this information and for this lovely photo
LOOKING ACROSS THE CAMEL ESTUARY
The River Camel has nothing to do with the animal! The name of the river is derived from the Cornish language Dowr Kammel, which means a crooked river. The view is from the Padstow side of the river.
