We tried this place after reading so many good reviews. We wanted to try Chicago deep dish pizza, but near our hotel. I expected it to be busy, and it was of course. The two of us got a table in 45minutes on a Friday night at 9pm. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was nice though loud. The salad was excellent with really great dressing. I wish I had only gotten that though. We were disappointed by the pizza. The "buttery" crust is more of a sad dessert crust than any sort of thing that should be with a pizza. The sauce had a good flavor but the pizza was overall quite "wet" and runny. I could eat no more than one slice. It was not terrible. Just by far not great. I would return to just get the salad dressing.

The deep dish pizza is very good. I was somewhat disappointed with how small the small is however it was very filling. I am a big eater! With THAT being said, be sure to look up upon the wall where the different sizes are displayed. The cashier might have pointed that out to me if she was not so busy maintaining her very negative attitude. Other than that one poor example of how an employee should behave the rest of the staff was Great! The cashiers piss-poor attitude is why Lou Mainotti gets 4 stars instead of 5! She exemplifies what happens to great small businesses that try to expand. 1 bad egg CAN really cause A lot of problems! I choose to look past her and, see a great shop for what it is! ****

Of all the Lou's, this is the best Lou's. Such great service. No hassle, no needing to trick them into delivering, I don't have to convince them to kill the pig and make the sausage (they just do it without asking), the garlic rains down on the mouth and I love this place more than Jesus loves his father.

So I expected a whole more from the top pizza place in Chicago....I'm not from chiacgo and I've never ate here before ...The pizza looked amazing but tasted very plain it was very runny the crust is weird. The pizza was very did not live up to the hype. I paid 15 bucks for a small 9 inch 1 topping deep dish, I definitely wouldn't do it again

In the midst of a long moving day, we ordered a couple of extra large pizzas for delivery. After giving the driver a nice fat tip and sending him on his way, we found that he gave us a couple "slider specials"! How rude! We were so tired and hungry that we snapped a couple of photos and just tipped the pizzas so that the oozing mess would equalize! The pizzas were great! I still give the place four stars because we later visited the restaurent and showed the manager the photos we took. The manager was very conciliatory and classy. He took care of us in a way that made me write this glowing review! Mistakes happen and good management knows how to deliver on a great recovery that turns disappointment into committed customers! Way to go Kevin!

Had the most delicious deep dish pizza in town. A wide variety of selection of food. Very impressed with the food and service. Make sure you get an appetizer, they have some unique dishes. Definitely recommend.

Ugh. I'm not a huge fan of deep dish pizza and was hoping Lou Malnati's would be the one place to change my mind (FYI - Pequod's is the closest to changing my mind). We came here on a Monday around 130pm - so we were seated immediately. We had a free appetizer or dessert coupon from our hotel around the corner. We wanted the lunch special (personal deep dish pizza - either cheese, cheese and sausage, or cheese and pepperoni for the express 15 min pizza; drink, and side salad). On the menu, it says: 90 cents for each additional topping. I wanted to add some vegetables, and the waitress tells us that this negates the lunch special and we can no longer get the side salad & drink if we add toppings. I get the specialty Spinach Mix pizza and add a side house salad and a drink. We also ordered a spinach bread appetizer and the cookie dessert. Service was slooooooooooow. I'm talking slow. I know the deep dish pizzas take 30 minutes, which is fine, but the salad took forever to come out. We never even got our spinach bread (which the manager kindly gave it to us for free AFTER we got our pizzas). The cookie took forever to come out. We were there for a total of 2 hours! Pizza was also just okay. Crust was good but that's it.

Great food (takes 40 min to cook!) crazy busy (50 min wait on a Thursday night) thankfully you can preorder while waiting to be seated. The waitress we had was impatient and rude.
