Perfect buttery crust... BEST DEEP DISH IN CHICAGO! I have been coming to Lou for many years and am never dissapointed. This location is a bit older compared to the renovated Schaumburg location but it adds to the feel of a homely family traditional Chicago favorite deep dish. I highly recommend this location for the restaurant vibe, quick wait time, friendly staff, cleanliness and outstanding Pizza!. My favorite is the Lou w/ the butter crust. Only downfall is they only have 1 TV so if your going to have a few beers and pizza this isn't your best spot but this is a personal preference as I don't go to restaurants to watch TV.. that's what Bars are for.

Showed up with mom and dad, who were in from out of town, at 3:15 pm on a gorgeous and sunny day. The patio was not completely set up, but with the weather being as nice as it was, I figured it would be worth asking if we could sit outside. The hostess replied the patio wasn't open. When I asked what time the patio opens, she said "this afternoon." I asked, "could you be more specific?" She said "maybe around 4:00." As the three other employees hovering around the host station looked at me as if I were asking for one of their kidneys, we decided if we wanted to dine-in, or go elsewhere. At no point in the 60 seconds we stood there debating whether to stay or go did anyone from the restaurant offer any alternatives such as, "if you would like to order your food and have a drink at the bar, we can set up a table for you," or anything to that effect. We decided to leave. Based on the experience, I won't be returning to Lou's. Shame, because I really do enjoy their food and have dined there many times in the past.

Over-hyped. Bland crust. Diced tomatoes and cheese. Blah. Wait is ridiculous and the food is overrated. Don't believe the hype. Giordanos and Ginos is much better and flavorful.

Pizza here is amazing. Deep dish but the crust is light and buttery. If you want to try a couple, get smalls, most guys will eat 2 pieces, women and children probably only 1(a small is 4 pieces). Bruschetta was very good, light and delicious. Great service. Pizza will take every bit of 30 minutes to come out, but it's worth it.

Not a Chicagoan but have visited several times and have tried Unos (and Dues), Home Run Inn, Giordano's, Gino's East, and Lou's. First time at Lou's was a few years ago at the Lincoln Ave. location. The absolute BEST sausage I've ever had on a pizza and couldn't wait to return for another round. Fast forward to last Saturday. Made day trip to Chicago for deep dish and a little sightseeing. Hit Gino's for lunch. Chicago fire was excellent. Hit this Lou's location for dinner. Got the Classic. Was disappointed. Noticed today on website menu they list "lean" sausage for this pizza and on the "extra ingredients section, they list "poultry sausage". In retrospect, am suspicious that we got that instead of the same type of sausage from a few years ago. OK so 1 for 2 at Lou's and not ready to give up but not a huge pepperoni fan either. It's all about the sausage. If I want to eat healthy, which I do most of the time, I won't be eating deep dish sausage pizza. How 'bout it Lou? Is it possible we got the poultry sausage? #pizzaflight @TheOlathean

The wait when we went was EXTREME, well over an hour. They do let you pre-order so we did do this. The wait staff was ok, I didn't think they were very attentive. We ran out of drinks and had to flag him down for boxes and the tab. This is not my favorite type of deep dish either. I've had pizza at Gino's East and much preferred that to this one. This one seemed very heavy to me with more of a heavy doughy crusty then a light & airy crust. The sausage comes as one big piece of sausage covering the entire pizza. As other's have said also, the sauce is really just quartered tomatoes and I prefer a sauce. The cheese bread was really good though. I wouldn't go back.

Busy busy busy! We had to wait 45 minutes for a table and we ordered our pizza pie whilst waiting but still had to wait a further 30 minutes for food to arrive. The service was friendly, but slow. The food was OK, but Chicago style pizza pies are not for me it turns out. I expected more and better and was a little disappointed.
