My view across the Piccadilly Valley late yesterday afternoon from Mount Lofty House - looking across towards Mt Barker as the much awaited rain arrives giving relief to the horrific Sampson Flat fire.
Our Emergency Services here in South Australia and from across the country, both Metropolitan and the volunteers from the Country Fire Services, have given not only their heart and soul over the past six days, but they have risked their lives for the sake of many.
Words can not express the gratitude being felt towards the thousands of volunteers who have donated their time, food, water and so much more to provide much needed support for the fire fighting efforts.
As a civilian and a member of this great community, I applaud you - as an ex-Serving member of our military forces, I salute you all.
