Blogged yesterday on how real-time #mobileapps are revolutionizing #manufacturing. Interesting to see how manufacturers across the Midwestern US are adopting a more mobile-oriented mindset in terms of serving customers.
Providing real-time responses 24/7 on any mobile device anywhere is the new normal in 2017, making mobile apps essential in manufacturing. 54% of B2B companies selling online report that their customers are using smartphones to research purchases, and 52% say that their customers are using smartphones to buy online

There's a fascinating new study out from the MIT Sloan Management Review that finds how advanced analytics capabilities lead to great IoT performance. An interesting read, it shows you get what you give when it comes to sharing IoT data across your value chain. #IoT   #analytics   #BigData
Companies with strong analytics capabilities are 3X more likely to get value from the Internet of Things (IoT) than are those with weaker analytics capabilities. 90% of respondents see IoT as an opportunity, while only 15% see it as a threat. For those with strong analytics capabilities, 95% see IoT as [...]

I've been tracking the many #IoT  and  #IIoT  forecasts that have been published this year and summarized them in a blog post this morning.
This years’ series of Internet of Things (IoT) and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) forecasts reflect a growing focus on driving results using sensor-based data and creating analytically rich data sets. What emerges is a glimpse into where IoT and IIoT can deliver the most value, and that’s in solving complex logistics, manufacturing, services, and supply chain problems.

Story
Introduction

My areas of expertise are in the areas of channel management, quoting, sales and product configuration, pricing, contract management, order management, CRM and ERP systems and their use in attaining sales and profit objectives of organizations.  My interests specifically are in the areas of how Web Services and XML are making it possible for companies to attain their selling goals profitably through their channel networks.

I’m a regular contributor to industry blogs, participate in webinars, and have written several ebooks on my topics of interest in addition to assisting in sales cycles, system architecture, solution and pricing planning discussions.

I also teach MBA courses in international business, global competitive strategies, international market research, and capstone courses in strategic planning and market research.  I’ve taught at California State University, Fullerton: University of California, Irvine; Marymount University, and Webster University.  As I have a passion to write I am currently completing a book on how collaborative platforms can significantly improve value chain performance with publication scheduled in 2013. A few years ago I founded Software Strategies Research and the results of those studies will be published on Amazon.com, Google Books and on my website, http://softwarestrategiesblog.com/
