My Nephew in Law wrote this article.  I learned a lot and see things I did not see or think about before.

Hilary.  I decided to start over to and keep getting sidelines.  I want to not only make sure I have all the sources but as many siblings etc as I can.  I use Family Tree maker so just started a new tree in that program.
  Best of luck..

Finally managed to get Find My Past new Family Tree. I decided to start from scratch to avoid adding any errors from my other trees.

Mixed thoughts genealogy is a hobby for me.  I like to think I am learning and using that education to get more accurate results as well as naming sources .  I am a panelist studying Tom W Jones' book Mastering Genealogical Proof  facilitated by DearMyrtle.  I have never felt that my comments matter less because I am a "hobbiest"................and in any other discussions. .However,   I must consider my Profession and how this question would be answered.  During my career as a Registered Nurse I did give some credence to family members who researched their or their family members illness but have to ask the question.  Would my opinion carry more weight because of my credentials and experience?  I would have to say I would feel my comments would carry more weight and might try to sway them into seeing things from a different view.  If, however, they share their notes and they are from an accredited source or if they have a medical background. ..... I would might use that in my practice esp with them or their family member.  Therefore, I must say although, I have not been made to feel less by any  professional genealogist I would give more credence to their opinion and learn from them.  I would be open to their expertise and advice and follow it first.  I would probably go down the path they suggested before taking my own idea and following it.  I think people who have taken the time to get accredited or who do it for a living should be given the respect that time and expertise deserve.  Achieving these credentials takes time, education  practice, and I am sure Money.  MY HAT is off to them.... please be patient with the amateur.....be kind.....and PLEASE continue to share your thought and ideas with us!!!  Hope this all makes sense.

Dear myrt - I for one want to thank you for the positive effect you have had on my "family tree climbing"  From allowing me to participate in the "Mastering Genealogical Proof" study group to keeping me up with the additional ways to achieve my goals to starting a blog. (adding to it on a regular basis is one of my 2014 goals)
I think if they had a TV show about Hunting ancestors we should all dress in camo.  Wouldn't we be cute.
Looking forward to traveling with you and all the new friends. blogs, etc I have discovered I 2013.

I had so many bookmarks that I don't take time to look at them. Besides websites move. The nice thing about Evernote is that I have the DATA and I have the link, that I can get to if it still exists. If the URL Changes I have was I was looking for.
