Working on a blog post I started over the weekend about the things I'm grateful for in this month of Thanksgiving.

It was more a random collection of inventions like: 'heated seats in my car', 'contacts that won't blind me if I sleep in them accidentally-on-purpose' and 'high-speed wifi' than anything deeply philosophical.

I can honestly say, I have never in my 25 years of wearing contacts slept in them. Holy crap that hurts. WHO DOES THAT????

Imagine if this is 2014/2015, what will this experience be like in 10 years and how will our lives/society be impacted as a result? Consider the converse: a decade ago we didn't even have smartphones and what device are most people reading this on today? #VR #DigitalStrategy #Futurecasting

Story
Introduction
Professionally, I have more than 20 years' experience as a digital marketing strategist, agency leader and business growth accelerator. Mostly I bridge business and communications strategy with digital marketing tactics, social media, content strategy and the right technology investment for near-term competitive advantage and measurable bottom-line results.

As mother to my 3 daughters, their education has become a passionate cause for me as I have happily donated thousands of hours to help educators and administrators within K-12 schools and higher ed understand and adapt digital technology in the classroom as well as master social media platforms and create appropriate content to communicate effectively and positively impact their teaching effectiveness with a classroom of digital natives.

I am also a supporter of theater, music and arts organizations where I've spent more than a decade volunteering my skills as to write grants, build web sites, create eNewsletters and develop robust mailing lists to support development plans. I've served as a board member for a local community theater group as well as President of the Board for Wild Swan, a professional theater company in the Midwest, dedicated to providing quality, accessible, original productions for children and families as well as offering participatory workshops to K-12 students and their teachers. In addition to using my digital business skills behind the scenes, I've also performed in more than 60 theatrical productions.

My talent for entertaining an audience coupled with my passion for teaching people to embrace digital technology translates into meaningful results. How? By building trusted client relationships and working together to deliver creative, memorable digital experiences for brands, users, influencers while moving the needle on the business in the process.

As a graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara with a BA in Film & Media, I went on to pursue my MFA in Film at NYU but left before completing the program to accept a dream opportunity as a researcher at the BBC in London, where I worked on programs for BBC 1 and 2 as well as Radio 4 during my 3-year stint. As most of the programs had to do with business and politics, I transitioned into a business development role for a management consulting firm specializing in change management, leadership development and top-tier executive education for Global 1000 companies.

I returned to New York to work for Harte-Hanks, a $1 bn marketing services agency with 8,000 global employees where I was quickly promoted to Vice President, Chief Digital Officer, reporting to the CEO and tasked to migrate client programs from traditional direct marketing to multi-million dollar digital and data-based solutions (websites, email/crm, call center, data enrichments and advanced analytics) in the retail, pharmaceutical and financial services sectors.

In 2000 I moved to Ann Arbor to raise my family and continued developing agency leadership credentials as Sr Vice President at Campbell-Ewald | CE, a large integrated marketing services firm within IPG.

In 2008 I was offered a position as Group Director, Strategy & Business Development for Organic, a boutique digital agency. As the lead digital strategist for the Chrysler | Jeep | Dodge account, I led a team where we pioneered new social media channels and strategies for Jeep and Dodge as well as concepting and then running a 'by-invite-only' customer advisory board. Other responsibilities centered on regularly updating brand web sites through online user research, empathy-based personas, and Omniture data, user experience development, introducing new brands Ram and Fiat into the digital portfolio and continually developing insight-driven new business opportunities through internal collaborations with creative as well as working closely with strategy/planning counterparts at Omnicom sibling shops, BBDO and PhD.

In February, 2010, I took a position as SVP, Managing Director, Digital with Publicis Groupe's flagship global PR|Events agency, MSLGroup. I realized that social media was pivotal in the continued development of smart digital strategies, and PR agencies were in a better position to capitalize on the natural affinities.  I led a cross-functional team of 50 talented professionals as an internal social media/digital/analytics agency that served the needs of the dozen MSLGroup offices within North America, including many Fortune 500 clients. Responsibilities included: overall management of all clients within the Detroit-metro (mainly a multi-million dollar GM relationship), financial P&L for the office (legal, finance, HR) as well updating all core production processes and personnel to be more agile from proposal and initial concepting through design, production and measurement.

Early in 2013, I moved my family to Milwaukee and joined Cramer-Krasselt as Vice President, Director of Digital Strategy. I managed a team of incredibly talented data scientists/analysts/strategists and worked closely with all agency disciplines to propose a wide variety of digital solutions designed to solve business problems and support integrated marketing campaigns for more than 30 clients across multiple industries.

2015 will be a year of change as I am working on a number of creative projects and supporting my family in new and exciting ways.

As a mom of 3 girls, I've added many qualifications over the years: expert hostage negotiator, curly hair stylist, 'tater tot' foodie, allowance bookie, dog whisperer, NHL-style referee, detective like Poirot, and assistant to demanding divas where I learned to calmly handle their insanely unreasonable requests.
