Grind and Grape delivers an array of options from coffee in the morning to beer and wine at night. Their moonlighting style approach  of offering an array of options is helping them to thrive across a number of different markets.

The same has to go for musicians. Don't jerk the industry around

Making up reviews or having friends write reviews for what you want said on pages like CD Baby, Reverberation and Facebook are not testimonials to be added to your press kit.

Put the time in to reaching out the newspapers, magazines, established music sites and other artists and professionals to build up your reviews and testimonials.

Put the time in to building your professional package with legitimacy instead of short cutting and using materials that will only hurt.

And no one that is not a musician could care less that you are the number 3 artist in some market on Reverberation. Stop with your meaningless “chart” positions, that no one really cares about too.

The Six S's to Success.

- Show Up - Showcase - Shine - Share - Search - Stand -

#Show up ...by being where you say you will.
#Showcase ...by following through.
#Shine ...by doing the absolute best you can.
#Share ...by telling others when/if things have to change.
#Search ...by learning or finding out how you can deliver the best result.
#Stand ...by your actions and your honor, not your hype.

Apply those six and you will see success. As easy as they seem, its a limited few that actually practice and execute all of them together.

Be one of the few.

Meaty, Beaty, Big and Bouncy

No, not getting dirty...

It's the name of a Who album that has songs like Can't Explain, I can See for Miles, and Substitute.

It is also a good nick name for the chapter 10 audio from The Artists Guide, ‪#‎MusicMarketing‬ & Promotions which is available today.
38 Tracks, 3 hours and 4 minutes of material and under 2 bucks.

It is available on ‪#‎iTunes‬, ‪#‎amazon‬ & ‪#‎audible_com‬ with more information at the link below.

Stop trying to be found and find your own way your self
.
Waiting to be discovered, waiting to be found, waiting for someone to hear you and waiting to be signed are all passive actions. And get over he idea of thinking reality TV will slingshot you to fame.

Build your brand for visibility, create your content for marketing, organize a music business plan for support and solicit your music through as many channels as possible for more options and viability for your career.

The old idea of "as soon as they hear me or as soon as they see me, Ill be famous" is foolish and only keeps you further away from ever being heard and destroying the chances of ever being found.

You still gotta do the work

It still comes down to doing the work, learning what you need to know and putting the effort in to actions to make success happen.

A good attitude is a great thing, being determined is fine and having drive is excellent, but if those elements aren’t being applied to the right actions to take you in the right direction as you grow your dream, then you are going to just run in circles.

Its not about believing you can do it, it is about learning how do it, doing the work and continuing to push through in the best and worst times in order to actually do it and make it really happen.

And if you have to spend a small fortune on a life coach to get you in the “mood” to do it, you are wasting money and time. Put your energy effort and budget toward the dream and the people that will help get you to the dream, instead of some one stroking your ego.

A recording studio is only good as the people you are recording with and how you connect with them.

It doesn’t matter who recorded there or what was recorded there, how big the room is or what the size of the board is.

There are too many variables, from the amount of time to who worked on the project to how much money was spent to a dozen other elements.

When you choose your studio, choose it based on the examples you’ve heard at the budget you have and your ability, comfort and connection with the engineer or producer. Make the right decisions based on the smartest information for the best results.

Money and fame does not mean you are talented or good.

If you think the money you have made or the popularity you have achieved, justify you to be arrogant and gives you a right to treat others like less, as you think you know more than anybody else, you are truly are jerk.

Confidence and assertiveness are good things to have, but there is always something to learn from anyone at any level regardless of your fame or finances.

Managing your Time

Your time management skills to manage both what you create for product, pictures, samples, blogs, videos, songs and son on has to be met with the same effort and commitment to putting them up in the right places, the right way for the best results to engage your existing fans as you grow your fan base even larger.

The effort in your marketing and the execution as well as distribution is key.

Change the focus

The incessant focus on other peoples lives, careers & gossip is only keeping you from having a real life or successful ‪#‎career‬ yourself.

Dumpster fire shows/families like the ‪#kardashians are only popular because people allow them to be and continue to interact and react to the stories.

If Robert Kardashian was alive, I'm pretty sure he would be ashamed of the joke they have turned in to and how the mother has not only enabled, allowed it and hyped it, but became the publicist for it.

Tune them out, turn them off & they'll go away. Giving you the time to focus on you.

Completely disappointed with the service, the professionalism, the prices and the food. Two days earlier, we reserved on open table, only to get a call four hours later stating our time was no longer available. Upon visiting to see about availability, a very nice woman was able to get us a table for Friday night. She was professional and on top of it, but the rest of the experience was nothing short of horrible. Going upstairs to the bar to wait for our table, we began to sit down at the bar, where the bartender barked at us that the seat was taken and then ignored us for five minutes. I understand about seats being taken, but the reaction was rude, uncalled for and insulting. In going back down stairs, we were sat very nicely at a table outside for drinks. The woman at the front even lit the heater and got us a couple drinks and our table a little early. That was the highlight of the night. After that the service was incredibly slow and it was at point where the room was far from capacity. The burratta dish was bland and liquidish and the steak was less than average. The prices no where near matched the quality and I am very confused as to all the high marks. We were advised that it was a hit or miss place and it was with no doubt a miss. The atmosphere is very nice, the wine selection is broad and solid, but the experience as a whole was not worth the time or the expense. We really wanted to have a great experience and a great dinner, but it did not happen.

Fresh shrimp, tasty scallops, excellent clams and delicious mussels on top of a bed of creamy risotto with this terrific cream sauce. Top notch taste and a great sized serving. The Dulce de Leche bread pudding is so good, its just wrong! Great staff, fun atmosphere and a good time all around.

By far the coolest name for a pit stop type store. Very clean bathrooms, nice people working there, but most of all, just gotta love the name.

On the book tour, we were half way out on Long Island and had a Boston date the next day. The Cross Sound Ferry saved us a great deal of time and traffic hassles, by shooting directly over to New London. Basic Ferry service, but helps you avoid NYC traffic all together if you need to be up in New England.

This is a great down and dirty Irish pub. Much more than just the student hang out some think it is. Good menu, great drinks and a great feel. Harpo made this place the right way and everytime I can get back, I stop in.

It was amazing to see it first hand and walk around Dealy Plaza. The displays are well put together and bring back a piece of history, but it also is very one sided and doesnt take in to consideration the aspects of the controversy surrounding the reports. The photos are amazing, the view from the seventh floor is incredible and strange all at once, but again, the information seems very tempered to the single gunman theory and lacks the consideration of all the different reports.

Great displays and great information about the history of rock and roll. Just dont get wound up in who deserves what or where this person should be placed or how that person isnt mentioned. The displays are well put together and its a great experience if you enjoy it for what is there and not try to complain about what...in your opinion...is missing.
