Imagine if all it took was your donating $5 and then asking a friend to do the same...and they did. And then they asked their friend to do the same...and they did. So on and so on....

Tommy is not asking for much but he would appreciate your support. His life, his future is so much brighter today than it was yesterday and tomorrow, we are hoping we can make it even better. But we can't do it without you.

We don't just rescue the body. We free the mind.

Getting them out of the shelter was easy. Helping them learn to trust and feel safe is an ongoing commitment. Please, help us, help them heal.

Hi! I'm Apollo, a 3 year old American Staffordshire Terrier/Pit Bull. I'm with an awesome foster, but I'd like to find my fur-ever home. Come I come live with you? I'm leash trained, crate trained, obedient, timid / shy, affectionate, eager to please, intelligent, and gentle. I'm good with other dogs and older kids.

Read more about me and see more pictures: http://bit.ly/1SeghiQ
If you'd like to adopt me, please fill out an application:

When I got into rescue, I did it because I wanted to help those without a voice. The team that joined me had the same vision and LGAR became a reality, became something that in short order became more than I could have hoped for. Comprehensive planning, veterinary partnerships, trainers and amazing volunteers - and yet, tonight, I am finding myself at a complete loss.
I consider myself very responsibie and capable. We budget, we plan, our Board pays for all administration and marketing expenses, every penny goes to our dogs. And that means Fosters and Adopters.
As a rescue, if you adopt a dog directly from the shelter through us we do ask you for an adoption donation - it helps us take care of dogs that are in foster that are not so lucky - dogs like Rosie, Buddy and Butch. But when an adopter gets approved to welcome a shelter dog into their family forever, we don't leave them with the burden of picking up unexpected and massive bills due to illness that should have been prevented. And sadly we are now in a position that we are desperate for help.
Honestly, we don't know what to do other than to ask our community to help. And we know you have all helped a lot already. It doesn't go unnoticed. There are a lot of ways to help - donate, share, help us apply for grants, contests, whatever suggestions you have - we are willing to listen.

These dogs have been failed by humans enough. Please consider doing whatever you can to help us get them past these burdens and onto a better tomorrow. They are depending on us. Because of you, we were able to save them once, pulling them from a kill shelter placing them into safety at least for a little while. And we are asking for your assistance in saving them once again.

Please consider making a donation:
