This is how we welcome orchestras to London - by challenging them to a football match! The +Berliner Philharmoniker are in town, so today a team of London Musicians played a team consisting of the Berliners, the LSO, the +Barbican Centre and Askonas Holt. It ended 6–3 to the London Musos, and just one bloodied knee.

Love the cartoons drawn by pianist Alice Sara Ott, who's playing the Liszt Second Piano Concerto with us tomorrow. Looks like she was having trouble dragging Liszt away from the mirror in time for rehearsal this morning!

She shares her cartoons in Instagram, so follow her there for more: http://instagram.com/alicesaraott_official

One of the world's top symphony orchestras, based at the Barbican Centre in London and the world
Introduction
Hello world. LSO calling. Thanks for just being here to read this. We hope to see you sometime at the Barbican in London, or perhaps on tour, or if not, then here in cyberspace is just fine. Pull up a chair and let's chat.

The London Symphony Orchestra is one of the world’s top orchestras. Our home is at the Barbican in the City of London, where we perform over 80 concerts every year, and at LSO St Luke’s, a converted 18th-century church just up the road which is the base for our LSO Discovery community and education programme. We also run a record label, LSO Live. Each year we tour to several different countries, and return to some regularly where we have residencies.
