Has Whoopi Goldberg--honered with Lady Dance etc. yet done her two faces of song? And, why not a Motown classic as The Supremes, Otis Reading; and,  a memorial for the Hoofer Bing Crosby. And Katherine Hepburn with the 1942 music of Casablanca, "I am going to wash this man right out of my hair," many different ways within that movie.

The LSO is sad to hear of the death of its friend and long-time collaborator, the film composer James Horner, yesterday. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family at this sad time.

The LSO recorded 16 soundtracks with James over more than 20 years. In this interview, recorded back in 2009, he says some very nice things about working with us and the relationship we shared with him.

One of the world's top symphony orchestras, based at the Barbican Centre in London and the world
Introduction
Hello world. LSO calling. Thanks for just being here to read this. We hope to see you sometime at the Barbican in London, or perhaps on tour, or if not, then here in cyberspace is just fine. Pull up a chair and let's chat.

The London Symphony Orchestra is one of the world’s top orchestras. Our home is at the Barbican in the City of London, where we perform over 80 concerts every year, and at LSO St Luke’s, a converted 18th-century church just up the road which is the base for our LSO Discovery community and education programme. We also run a record label, LSO Live. Each year we tour to several different countries, and return to some regularly where we have residencies.
