Hey guys! This is a home screen I just finished making, based on Google's own design guidelines for making Android apps. My hope is that the layout will be instantly familiar to anyone who has used any Google apps before, such as G+ and Youtube. Below I go into a bit more depth explaining the layout. I'd love to hear some feedback on what you like or what you think needs improvement!
The home screen features a wallpaper and profile picture, similar to what is found on Google+'s website. Below that are a few buttons for Google services, followed by a Google Now widget, and finally your standard internet, phone, app drawer, messaging, and email apps.
Through either swiping to the left screen or tapping the button in the top left-hand corner, an extended menu slides out with more applications. Most Android apps use this design now, and I thought it would work well in a home screen as well. I'm proud to say I managed to make it actually slide out from the side, rather than using two different wallpapers. All of the apps in the slide-out menu are made with UCCW, and are very easy to replace should I find a new app to take another's place.
I made this homescreen using Nova Launcher, UCCW, and Desktop VisualizeR.
And once again, all comments, criticisms, and questions are welcome!
