Jorie and Mike had a gorgeous, golden engagement session that reminds me of everything I love about fall in Chicago!
Aren't these two and their dog, Winnie, just the sweetest? We started their engagement shoot in Wicker Park, where I learned that Winnie is the most ridiculously talented dog when it comes to posing for the camera. From there we headed to the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool and Peggy Notebaert Nature ...

Spring is in Chicago! Just had the most fantastic St. Patrick's Day engagement shoot (nope, we weren't wearing green, but everyone else around us was!) with Hannah & Gan this afternoon, and stopped by the Steppenwolf Theater in Old Town. Can't wait to share more.

What a gorgeous winter wedding! I feel so lucky to capture beautiful Chicago days and unique couples like this bride and groom. ARTango is the perfect indoor spot for an intimate city wedding!
I love so much about this wedding. Sarah and Ian somehow managed to put together a day that was quirky, intimate and romantic (with under 100 guests!), and classically beautiful all at the same time. There's something a little magic about beautiful winter wedding days in Chicago.

There are still such wonderful shoots from the past year that are yet to come on the blog. Here's one I absolutely love, an engagement session with such a sweet couple:

Liz did a PHENOMENAL job with my August wedding. I cannot say enough great things about my experience with her and the photos she delivered! To begin, Liz is SO personable, friendly, and professional. She made me feel so comfortable and relaxed. We had a somewhat tight time table and she did an amazing job keeping us on time without feeling rushed at all. My husband and I felt totally at ease and comfortable the entire time! We had a lot of fun and I really enjoyed having her photograph us! Liz did a great job in suggesting different shots/poses and did an amazing job capturing all the candid moments as well. The photos were so BEAUTIFUL! I cannot stop looking at them, because when I do, I feel like I am reliving my wedding day all over again! The quality of the photos is like none I've ever seen and the variety of shots was outstanding! I would recommend Liz to everyone! Not only is she fun/easy to work with, but her photos are truly breathtaking. It is easy to see Liz loves what she does and is GREAT at it! VERY happy with everything :)

Congratulations! Your search for a wedding photographer is over! Liz Lui photographed our non-traditional, winter wedding at The Hideout in Chicago, and we couldn't have been happier with her work. More importantly, my husband and I (heck, the whole wedding party) felt a natural, authentic connection to Liz and her assistant, Erin. Her friendly yet professional demeanor helped us feel at ease, enabling her to really capture the shots that best told our story. Liz was an active, easy to reach, flexible part of the planning process from our first meeting to the engagement shoot to our final meeting and, of course, on our wedding day. Because she took so much time getting to know us, we were confident that her advice on everything from first look photos to photo locations around Chicago would be a good fit for us. Considering we had three hours scheduled for photos around town before the ceremony, not including posed pictures at the venue, Liz kept the wedding party energized in freezing temperatures and gave purposeful yet creative direction at each location, all the while keeping a group of 14 ahead of schedule. At the ceremony, Liz and Erin melted into our audience of friends and family, discretely taking photos that took our breath our way. And the reception photos– every guest was featured in some way whether they were busting a move on the dance floor, laughing with family or friends, or sneaking out to the food truck for seconds. I highly, highly recommend Liz Lui Photography. Liz gave us the photos that we dreamed we'd have– ones that told our unique, fun, love-soaked narrative.
