Eating one ounce of nuts per day protects against heart attack, stroke, and inflammation (the bad kind). People who eat a small amount of nuts everyday also weigh less and have a lower waist circumference than those who don’t eat nuts. I keep measured snack packs (1 ounce) of almonds, pistachios, walnuts, or pecans in my desk, gym bag, and purse so I always have a healthful snack on hand. I also add nuts to smoothies, Greek yogurt, and homemade trail mix.
