🎵🎵Rain, rain go away.. send those pests some other way 🎵🎵With the amount of rain we've been getting and are supposed to get this week, it has already started causing havoc on our lawns and homes. Be on the lookout for:
- Worms, caterpillars & other insects
- Gray leaf spotting
- Brown patches or yellow spotting in turfgrass
- Ants, roaches, spiders, earwigs and wasps
- Rodents & snakes
And always make sure to remove any standing water to help prevent mosquito breeding; it's especially important due to the rise in Zika cases in Florida.

It's hard to believe it's already August, where has this year gone? Some lawn pests you may encounter this month (through October) are the tropical sod web worm and fall web worm 🐛. If left untreated these 🐛 can kill grass in patches and defoliate an entire tree in just a short amount of time. #worms #lawnpest #completepestcontrol

Start taking proactive measures to keep your home pest free before, during and after Tropical Storm Colin! When people think of hurricanes they most often think about falling trees, property damage, power outages and flooding. Most people don’t think of the long-term consequences which are pest problems. Here are some things to take care of before a storm:

1. Check your home’s exterior for openings that could let water or insects inside. Moist conditions often welcome pests like termites.
2. Pick-up and remove all items that can leave pools of standing water. Don’t forget kids toys too! Any amount of standing water attracts mosquitoes.
3. Check window screens for holes and replace or repair if you can to prevent insects from coming in your home during power outages.
4. Secure trash cans and other items as best as you can to try and prevent debris.
5. Make sure tree limbs and shrub branches are not in reach of the house.

After the Storm:
1. Be on the lookout for Red Imported Fire Ants in flood waters and debris.
2. Seal up any damages to your home ASAP to prevent entrance by rodents and insects.
3. Pick up toppled trash cans and scattered trash to avoid rodent and wildlife infestations.
4. If you have to remove trees, keep the branches and stumps as far away from the house as possible. Decaying wood can attract termites and ants.
