2016 was a rich year for medical technology. Virtual Reality. Augmented Reality. Smart algorithms analyzing wearable data. Amazing technologies arrived in our lives and on the market almost every day. And it will not stop in the coming year.

At Livecare, we're pretty excited about where technology is going and how it helps empower patients. We've launched our secure, encrypted face-to-face video platform called Connect. It integrated with Oscar EMR and KindredPHR, a patient controlled health record out of McMaster University.

Next they'll both integrate with Cloud Dx's suite of home monitoring devices and other wearables, like FitBit. Imagine patients and their care teams will having continuous access to vitals in real-time.

Check out www.kindredphr.com. It's free for patients to sign-up and will soon be in an app version for mobile. Health 2.0, indeed!

Livecare allows you to connect to a health care provider in BC or in other parts of Canada.

It also allows a specially trained medical assistant to be with the patient and share their vital signs via a computer and medical peripherals, ie, heartbeat, lung sounds, and more.

This new technology permits you and the doctor to visit as if you were both in the same room. It was built by clinicicans for clinicians and their patients. All the data is secure and housed in Canada. Want to learn more? Visit www.livecare.ca

Telehomecare delivers health services to patients outside of a conventional care setting by connecting the patient and health care providers with technology. This team works together to maintain and improve the patient's health and wellness needs, using telehomecare (also known as remote patient monitoring) technology to monitor the patient remotely.

Telehomecare can alert providers to a change to their patient’s condition before it requires a visit to an emergency room or return to the hospital.

The growth in the use of telehomecare provides Canadians suffering from chronic diseases with the ability to manage their conditions in their own homes, without as much disruption to their daily lives. Telehomecare can reduce emergency department visits and hospital stays, and increase patient satisfaction and quality of life.
