Today was a 5.5 Mile run/walk and I had been looking forward to it all day. I have a few "treat" things I do on my runs, and I got to go on this one alone (not easy with a baby), so I enjoyed my au...

I called here this morning and spoke to Isaac the "salesman" to ask if I could come in and see some second hand machines. He was very short with me and asked what I was making, then suggested a specific type of machine and told me he had one for $1500. When I mentioned that was out of my budget and did he have something used in a lower price range, he told me not to bother coming in because it would be a waste of my and his time. I'm amazed that a sales place that sells second hand sewing machines and boasts to have over 25,000 machines would tell me to not even come in to see if there was one that may suit me. I should have read the reviews on this business earlier and I wouldn't have even wasted a phone call to them. I don't know how they're still in business honestly. That was no way to treat a potential customer.

After researching birth options, I was introduced to Gelena and Sandy at a mom event by my doula. Meeting a midwife is like any other relationship, sometimes you "just know". From that first meeting, I knew I wanted the P3 ladies to be a part of my home birth experience, and I am SO glad I chose them. I switched my care to P3 at 20 weeks, so after experiencing rushed, impersonal OB visits that lasted less than 5 minutes each time, spending an hour or more with Gelena at each visit was a refreshing change. Her care for my nutrition, well being, and our baby's well being was awesome. As my due date came closer, we worked together to work through my low iron issues and my birth experience was just amazing. Between Gelena, Shannon, and my doula Dawna, they kept me sane, and I know I would not have been able to make it at home with any other team in place. They monitored me and my daughter constantly, and I got the safe home water birth I'd dreamed of. Our daughter arrived into the world 2 weeks ago, healthy, and her pediatrician is amazed at how mature, alert and healthy she is. I know this is a testament to the way she came into the world. I have also recovered great thanks to the wonderful care I received. This experience has been amazing, and I highly recommend P3 midwifery care to anyone desiring a home birth. As a side note, we also took the Childbirth classes with P3, and really enjoyed them and learned a LOT . We would recommend them as well. We also took the Breastfeeding 101 class with Sandy, which was extremely informative also. These ladies also provide low cost maternity care for women in need. So, if you want to support an amazing group of women who have the best intentions and really care about their clients and the community, become a part of this group!
