Summer Camps with a mission: To create Cybersecurity experts
Last year, the NSA and NSF collaborated on a pilot program that ran six such summer camps across the country, for both children and teachers. They set a goal of 30 for this summer, but demand was so great there are 43 at a cost of about $4 million, said Steven LaFountain, the dean of the College of Cyber at the National Security Agency, who is credited by many with conceiving the idea.

At Vermont's Norwich University, 20 high school students will build computers they'll be able to take home. At Dakota State University in South Dakota, about 200 students will learn about programming. In Southern California, 250 middle school Girl Scouts will be given tiny computers, the chance to fly drones and earn special patches.

“The primary goal is we believe everyone should be security literate,” he said. “We discovered when we teach this on campus, students think this might be a cool thing to study. So hopefully a few kids will think this could be cool and pursue that.”

Uncle Roy wants me to buy him 2 lbs of this fish...but I remind him I don't even like the smell of fish, let alone eat it...and I don't want to be with him when he eats it.  It will take awhile for me to order, tho'....he's gonna have to give up retirement and get a job to afford fish at that price....hmmmm.  And people are really buyin that?  Wow!

Portsmouth, UK-based artist Julie Alice Chappell works with components salvaged from old computers and video game systems to make an entire taxonomic order of circuit-based insects. From used Nintendos to DVD players, any device is fair game for her winged assemblages which she sells online via Etsy. You can read a bit more about their origins on My Modern Met.
