An easy Spanish dessert, perfect for this time of year.
Baked apples, filled with chopped nuts and dried fruit and a splash of sweet wine.

April Fool's came and went in the USA, and I shared with my students that April Fool's is not celebrated in Spanish-speaking countries. What?! They all gasped... That's right! The pranking and punking in Spanish-speaking countries happens on Dec 28th and is called Dia de los Santos Inocentes. Since the actual history of the day is gory, I didn't share any details. The odd traditions continue in many town around Spain.
