I am so sad to see the end of SourcefedNerd. I was here for the beginning and I remember being SO excited to see the growth of nerd and geek culture, to see a fearlessness to talk about the many different things that we love and enjoy. It's been really wonderful and this is truly bittersweet. I hope that all the hosts and editors and all the behind the scenes people continue to do what they love and I thank you all, past and present, for the work you've put into this great channel. I'm especially sad for Sam; Sourcefednerd may have been Meg, Steve, and Trisha's baby... but it really became Sam's child. When I think Sourcefednerd, I think of Sam, his personality, his growth as a person and as a host, and all his geeky awesomeness that seemed to keep Sourcefednerd moving forward. I'm truly going to miss Sourcefednerd and all the people that made it what it is. <3

This is one thing I simply can't get behind... As long as it's not being claimed as their own or in some way mocked, I just don't get it. We've done this before, we've done the whole "you can't have these things, or use these things, or be in these places because you're not the same as me." I don't get why I can't wear certain clothes, makeup, or hairstyles, or listen to certain types of music, or just in general, enjoy and take part in cultures other than my own simply because of the color of my skin and the country I was born in. Isn't that what diversity is? I've always felt it meant the inclusion of everyone, not the exclusion of white people. If I can't celebrate Asian beauty because I'm white, can I also not eat Asian food? Or watch Asian media? I def think Vogue should have used a Japanese model, but I don't think they've committed some sort of crime because the model they chose is white... and I certainly don't think Karlie deserves backlash because she participated in the celebration of another kind of beauty. This just doesn't seem right to me. I have to wonder... if Vogue had used a model who was a woman of color, and also not Japanese, if people would have had such a negative and visceral reaction to it... I don't think they would have. I think they would have seen it for what it was, a beautiful photoshoot admiring the beauty and style of another culture.
