I work with creative entrepreneurs all the time - some of whom come to me in "starving artist" mode - and they don't even realize the wealth of information available at their local public or college libraries. There's really no excuse anymore.
A market will see a new artist first NOT hear their single like it used to be. You need to start marketing you RIGHT NOW. Don't make the mistake of...

"yes, and" has been a life (and business) saver for me.

I learned that "but" basically means "forget everything I just said, here comes what I REALLY mean..."

by using "yes, and" I validate others and keep them open to hearing my point of view.

"Great things happen when you unplug from tech and plug into real life." Yep. That. Pretty much sum it up. I know a couple of "power players" who push, push, push and brag about working 19 hour days. "I'm working smarter and harder." One of them said. Well, he looks old... like he's aged twice as fast as his colleagues. Sure he's got lots of cash, but part of me wonders how much longer he's going to be around to enjoy it. There's got to be a balance, as far as I'm concerned, and that's what I teach my clients. :-)

I'm still working on my dream. It's taken a while to consolidate all the "parts" of me into a workable, profitable plan, but now I'm a musician and biz coach that uses music and stories to help illustrate the biz principles I teach. I love the "living room strategy" - which I think was a term coined by +Tara Gentile and it's helped many people I know (myself included) to grow well beyond our living rooms into bigger and more world-reaching things.

Great tips, Marie! I was never good at doing the "night before" planning, so I changed my morning routine to include my daily planning and prioritizing. That's how The PEACE System was born - and I've been using it for years now to help me stay focused on what really matters each day - plus, it's something I can do ANY time of day and it still keeps me on track for the next 24 hours.

This is the first time in my LIFE I've ever been a repeat buyer from a salesman, let alone a dealership. A couple of years ago, my husband and I had just come out of bankruptcy, and Bryan Bickford was there to help us get a car to not only re-build our credit, but also enable my husband to get to and from work in a safe, reliable vehicle. So when it was time for me to get another used car, we turned to Bryan. His straightforward, no nonsense approach to finding the car that works for US was what made it easy to go back to him again. The fact that he had exactly the car I'd been looking for was a bonus. I didn't need to look at any other car, and he really did his diligence to get me all the info (carfax, one-owner, even answered all my questions about the noises I thought I was hearing in the car). Bryan really left no stone un-turned. We arrived at the dealership about 30 minutes before closing and he stayed with us all the way through the process. Really great guy. It's no wonder he's been with Randy Wise for more than 6 years and won the salesperson of the year award two years in a row. That part of the experience was fantastic. We were sold on the car, so it was more about getting the financing handled. That part of the experience could have been better, but we were there well after they closed and everybody wanted to go home. So while it felt a little "rushed", I also understand why. Jim (the manager that handled all the paperwork) talked us into some extras that we hadn't talked to Bryan about, but we agreed they were worth the investment. It just felt a little "last minute" to be talking about it then instead of earlier in the transaction. Regardless, both Bryan and Jim made the car-buying experience fun. We were relaxed through most of the process, and my husband and I are both very happy with the way the purchase turned out. When it's time for our next car, we'll most likely give Bryan a call.
