Current Iowa newspapers are not being microfilmed by the state's historical society, as in the past. Make the most of old and new newspapers for family history research with these tips.

Lisa Louise Cooke  is a Genealogy Media Producer and hosts two top-rated genealogy podcasts:  The Genealogy Gems Podcast which focuses on research strategies and Family History: Genealogy Made Easy which leads listeners through the research process.  Both of these "Internet radio shows" are featured in iTunes and her website at GenealogyGems.com.  In addition she publishes videos on the Genealogy Gems YouTube Channel.

Lisa is also the host of the Family Tree Magazine Podcast.  Lisa is the author of The Genealogist's Google Toolbox, How to Turn Your iPad in to a Genealogy Powerhouse, How to Find Your Family History in Newspapers, and  Genealogy Gems: Ultimate Research Strategies as well as articles for Family Tree Magazine.  Lisa is also a sought after international genealogy conference lecturer.
