Great article about initial screenings.
"These box-office results show that a small, independent film with the right message can have an outsized impact," said Producer Nathan Nazario. "We all sensed there was a pent-up desire for a wholesome love story, ...

I've been saying this in the self publishing classes I teach.
It should be XXs "The Fault in our Stars", or XXs "The Help."
Marvel Comics does it beautifully, "Marvel's The Guardians of the Galaxy."

Amazon is like a virtual flea market or mall. You "rent" space in the form of paying a fee on each sale you make to the public, to Amazon. All the top publishers sell through Amazon, so they use this marketplace.
Anyone can open an "Amazon" and many do, they just don't do it as well. Amazon's search engine and recommendations are second to none. This is really the issue.

Just noticed that  Rene Gutteridge turned the screenplay into a novel. She did a great job with Heart of the Country. The book far outshone the movie. I'll probably read Old Fashioned despite having seen the movie.

Lisa Grace - Where Good Meets Evil .- Author of the YA Supernatural Angel Series and Adult History Mystery Thrillers
Lisa Grace - author of the Angel Series, of which the first two books are in movie development through Motion Picture Pro Studios.

I enjoy boating, paddle boarding, and rehabbing wildlife. I've been known to stop traffic to rescue gopher tortoises. During mating season I carry a big box in the back of my SUV so I can transport the giant critters to a local wildlife refuge without having them peeing on the car mats.
I've raised wild woodpeckers and know their calls. They come back to visit once I've set them free.
I've kissed a twelve foot python on the lips.
I have a family of screech owls that do not screech, but trill, and gently serenade me in the dark while they stand in a line atop the back fence of my home.
I currently live on the Gulf Coast of Florida, where curious manatees and dolphins peer at my family and me from the tea colored (stained by the tannin of the mangrove nurseries) water.
I enjoy paddle boarding with my daughter.  I love to be outdoors, but am not a fan of the sun and what it can do to my skin. SPF 70 is my new best friend.
My gift to all is a copy of  Angel in the Shadows, Book 1 a teen supernatural thriller, which is now free at all major ebook stores.

I have thirteen books out now, too many to go into detail here, but I write:
  •  supernaturals using only those creatures mentioned in the Scriptures such as my: Angel Series, FEUDAL LAND serial, Society of the D.E.A.D. (WIP), 12 Angels by Christmas
  •  Clean Adult Real-Life History Mysteries like: The 15th Star, True Treasure
  • Sci Fi Flash Fiction: 30 Minutes of Flash Fiction, and the "Trouble with Tribble" in  Stories on the Go.
  • Nonfiction: How Real Science Proves the Bible, and contributing author to Mapping Your Way To Success Outlining Your Novel by K.M. Weiland and the cookbook Novel Morsels.
Please email me if you'd like to be added to my mailing list to be notified of new releases.

Where else can you see a movie with popcorn and soda each, for a family of 3 for less than half the price of a regular theater? Plus they show movies a week after they come out. The staff is super friendly and my family and I attend every week. Once you become a regular, they remember what you like. We've been coming for years. The owners this last year have been fixing it up, and getting the new digital projectors. They also give special discounts to the military. For many on a tight budget, this is a great option.
