The Mythopoeic Society has a new blog on Blogger. Eventually it will be linked to our website but in the meanwhile, you can mark this on your Google/Blogger account.

Actually, it IS linked to our website - you can go back and forth between the two, although I should up the linkage from the website to the blog more than it currently is.

Yeah, Kevin Roche will be a great WorldCon chair, if we win. This will be awesome.

It's taken a little while, but we wanted to make sure we got it right.
SFSFC (the parent organization of San Jose in 2018) has chosen our convention chair, should we win the 76th Worldcon. Congratulations to Kevin Roche!

For more information, please see our press release.

Yep, another great idea that we dropped but is needed again.

Preserving one of the most valuable service agencies in the United States while  saving one of our most vulnerable segments of the population from shyster like lending practices sounds like a Win/Win #FeelTheBern   #Vote4Bernie   #Bernie2016

Unfortunately, this is kind of against the law, and would require MASSIVE changes pushed through Congress, and lots of people in the banking industry would object. Many other countries have successfully let their Post Offices diversify into small banking, e-mail hosting, and so on - but the laws that make the USPS exist specifically prohibit certain types of business and competition with non-Federally-backed businesses. Bernie knows this, but he knows what populists like.

I loved Gracepoint. I  watched every   episode but the ending seemed trite, too bad lazy writing spoiled what was set to be a very good series.

An inspirational woman of science has died. She will be missed.

"Kwolek is the only female employee of DuPont to be awarded the company's Lavoisier Medal for outstanding technical achievement. She was recognized as a "persistent experimentalist and role model.""
Police Lt. David Spicer took four .45-caliber slugs to the chest and arms at point-blank range and lived to tell about it. Like thousands of other police officers and soldiers shot in the line of duty, he owes his life to a woman in Delaware by the name of Stephanie Kwolek.

Introduction

Don't forget to ask for my "Definitely Not in Kansas" ribbon at cons.

Treasurer to Fandom, I can usually be found at the fan tables pimping some convention or another. See the list in Employers.

Married to Harold Harrigan. Mother of Jenevieve Davis and Harold Harrigan III aka Moose or Pikadude No. 1. Jennie is here on G+.

I am Always 42.

I seem to have made it to some shared circles, which means I now have a bunch of followers I don't know. I don't mind you following me, most of my posts are public, but if you are a friend, please send me a note that you are here, so I can circle you back.

You will find my name attached to other e-mail addresses - Do not bother to circle those accounts. They are used for e-mail only. I don't post to them. They just sit on G+ looking silly. If we are working together, I will gather your address into those address books, I promise.

This place is honest and thorough. We've been bringing all of our cars here for years. This is not your quicky 15 minute oil change. They will do all the inspections and checks.

The place is lovely. If you get a view room, you can see Mount Shasta, but you may also see roofs and stuff. See photos. And, they no longer have the free breakfast buffet Best Westerns are known for. In fact, you can't even buy a breakfast buffet. We were very disappointed by their breakfast menu.

Food was good and plentiful. The salad bar was clean and varied. Beer selection was good. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. I'd go back, but we have enough leftovers for tomorrow's dinner. And the whipped substance is honey butter.
