How many times have you heard there are some things you will never get over? What’s interesting about this statement is that whatever you are trying to get over, you’ve already gone through.
We don’t have to get over any “thing”, because no “thing” is impossible for God. That means every “thing” is possible for God to restore, redeem, heal, and renew. We either believe God or we don’t. When Jesus offers forgiveness for those who believe in His name and truly repent of their sins, they are forgiven. When Jesus says He came to heal the brokenhearted and bind their wounds, He didn’t just mean a partial healing.
I’ve been through some very nasty things, molestation, attacks, rape, being stalked, chronic illness, eight surgeries… (Watch my testimony on YouTube http://youtu.be/t8wh45HsNeo
The memories of those situations wasn’t erased, yet I know God has healed them (and is healing them). I know my Redeemer lives and I live in my Redeemer. I know that everything I’ve been through God has equipped me to not only have gone through and survive, but to also live in a daily new life with Him.
God’s mercies are new every morning. His mercies are there when a negative memory resurfaces. His mercies tenderly heal your internal and external wounds. His mercies turn around whatever the enemy meant for evil and turn it into good.
You are a survivor! Whatever you’ve gone through, you survived. You are a gladiator who has been in the ring with the lions and tigers, and you survived. There may be scars, there may be negative memories, there may be heartache and pain, but you survived. You are a warrior who survived the battle, and because you survived, you are here to point others to The One who helps us through every battle.
We don’t have to just get over something, with God we go through!
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.” ~ Isaiah 43:2 (NIV)
“Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” ~ Psalm 23:4 (NIV)
