Have you tried ranger? It's terminal based and has vi like key binding

I ask because I have not tried vifm so if you have tried both then what do you think? How do they compare? WHy did you choose vifm?

I would love if they started going UPSTREAM. Damn. It's complete BS to have n Gnome forks that all are incompatible, have different bugs fixed etc. That's just fragmentation.
Instead they should fix their codebase and reintegrate.
