+God Emperor Lionel Lauer I use both an original Model M and a Rosewill RK-9000 with Cherry MX Blue switches. They're not alike at all. I hope the Unicomp Classic is similar to the Model M. (http://pckeyboards.com) Next, I require a Topre keyboard. :)
Compared to the classical buckling spring, the Cherry is much quieter and takes much less force to activate. For this reason, I find it easier to use for long-form typing, like this blog reply.
But if you bottom out the keys, the Cherry gives a loud and abrupt stop. This is quite uncomfortable, and Cherry enthusiasts sing the praises of typing without bottoming out the keys. Either that, or buy rubber O-rings. I haven't bought O-rings, yet. For staccato keyboarding, like shortcuts and commands, I prefer the Model M.
+John Hogenmiller I'm not a fan of the EnduraPro trackstick. Genuine IBM ThinkPads have spoiled me, and other laptop manufacturers have made me wary of anything that is not genuine TrackPoint®. Reviews indicate that the Unicomp pointing devices are nowhere near as nice as IBM TrackPoint or Apple Trackpad. So, if you really like the buckling spring, then I guess the EnduraPro is the only option. If the pointing is more important, I'm tempted to get a Lenovo keyboard with TrackPoint. I wish good technology weren't so siloed, though, and that the TrackPoint IV could be built into the buckling spring keyboard.Sep 30, 2014

That's something I'm likely to be okay with, although I'm a little concerned about the shallow bottoming out that you mentioned.
Thanks you so much for your reply, after all this time. I'm actually shopping for keyboards right now, & your comments are very helpful.Sep 30, 2014
