We save the BEST for last!

APACEvotes is participating in The Seattle Foundation's GiveBIG, a 24-hour event on Tuesday, May 5 -- inspiring people to give online to local nonprofits who make our community a better place.

I am a member of APACEvotes, a community-led grassroots organization, focused on voter mobilization and civic participation of Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) in Washington State. We strive to increase access to and participation in electoral and civic affairs by registering, educating and protecting AAPI voters.

Please support us on Tuesday, May 5th, by making a donation to APACEvotes on the Seattle Foundation's website http://www.seattlefoundation.org/npos/Pages/APACEEducationFund.aspx.
All gifts will be s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d by local businesses and philanthropists. Together we can build active and powerful AAPI communities that are well-educated on the issues, informed of the political process, and who fully participate in our democracy.

Hey, I am champion not because I can jump up and kick a tree, but because I made a contribution.  YOU CAN BE A CHAMPION.  Make your contribution, today at http://www.seattlefoundation.org/npos/Pages/APACEEducationFund.aspx

I choose Firefox = I choose Independence
For 10 years, Firefox has stayed non-profit, non-corporate, non-compromised. Choosing Firefox isn’t just choosing a browser. It’s a vote for personal freedom.

The Coalition of Immigrants, Refugees & Communities of Color (CIRCC) will host a candidates forum at the Eritrean Community Center in Seattle, located at 1528 Valentine Pl. S. Seattle, WA 98144 on Saturday, October 11th from 1 PM to 3 PM followed by a reception with food and drink.

The event is free and open to the public.

For those unable to attend, we will record the event and make it available online.

Members of our communities will meet candidates, raise important issues facing our communities, and have the chance to directly ask candidates their questions.

Candidates will present their views on these issues and how they will address them.

For our 3rd annual candidate’s forum, we are broadening our political scope by hosting candidates from federal and state legislative races as well as judicial races.

The forum will include Pramila Jayapal and Louis Watanabe for State Senate (37th district) as well as Frank Chopp and Jessica Spear for the House of Representatives (43rd district), among many others in the greater Seattle area.

We will also provide translators for French, Spanish, Khmer, Vietnamese, Tagrinya, Amharic speakers and others as requested.

As a grassroots lead, community based organization, CIRCC seeks to build a stronger community and create equity in the political system by creating meaningful dialogue between marginalized communities and their political representatives.

Last year approximately 250 community members and organizers were in attendance and we hope to have more this year.
