Really, Jayse would be my name today? Something tells me this doesn't quite work with Asian names :)

This is an interesting feature. I've always liked the idea of following posts of people's interests rather than the people.

But at the same time, this seems like it gets away from discovering something random about someone. That and it requires (I think?) that a person curate themselves. That... doesn't always go well. Circles didn't seem to catch on too much?

Introducing Google+ Collections, a new way to group your posts by topic

Our happiest Google+ users are those who connect with others around shared interests and passions. So we set out to give people a place to express the things they love. Today, we’re announcing Google+ Collections, a new way to group your posts by topic.

Every collection is a focused set of posts on a particular topic, providing an easy way for you to organize all the things you’re into. Each collection can be shared publicly, privately, or with a custom set of people. Once you create your first collection, your profile will display a new tab where other people can find and follow your collections.

Posts in collections you follow will appear in your Home stream, with a link to easily jump right into the collection so you can get to similar content from that author. Collections give you a great way to find more of the stuff you love from the people you follow.

Collections is available on Android and the web, and iOS is coming later. For Android users, make sure to update your Google+ app to get access to Collections.

For inspiration on interesting topics, check out our Featured Collections page here: g.co/collections

Create your collections today and share what you love.

If you have questions then also be sure to check out our Help Center content http://goo.gl/zyIVMH; if you still can’t find an answer then please post your question in the Collections subcategory.

Best,
Moritz & Claire

edit: and Chromecasting is missing from Photos...

edit: I take it back. Finally got to use it... this is no where ready for prime time IMO. Albums still wonky (no viewing Drive folders for instance). Sharing to specific people still searches all of G+ instead of my contacts. This is a great interface to manage your autobackup stuff. But I was hoping for some really good +Google Drive integration.

I think this may be the beginning of the end for my personal SmugMug account (still can't beat it for semi-pro/professional use though).

Now only if it could make pictures > 16MP take up the difference in storage space.... (to take advantage of free 16MP)

Check out the new Google Photos app — which comes with unlimited storage for photos up to 16MP and videos up to 1080p HD resolution. Just choose ‘high quality’ when you upload them through the new Photos app or Photos desktop uploader if you’d like them stored for free.

Just like before, the images and videos you keep in Google Photos will appear in Google Drive automatically and any you upload or sync using Drive will always be the uncompressed, originals and will use your available storage.

Uhh... +Google Photos  where are my albums...

edit: it's in a drop down from Collections. And there is no listing of the Drive albums. Just one random album from what looks like Hangouts maybe.

edit2: dammit, #autobacakup  is not visible by click anymore, I have to search it.

This makes me sick.
The Federal Trade Commission says four cancer charities conned donors out of $187 million and spent almost nothing to help actual cancer patients.

This was a lot of fun. Not sure about the longevity of the game, but its single player looks promising-ish.

Unfortunately, with the heavy reliance of the GamePad, local multiplayer will seemingly be very different than online multiplayer.

If you missed out on the first Splatoon Global Testfire, we’re doing another one! Download the software in the Nintendo eShop on Wii U starting today, May 15, at 7 a.m. PT and meet us online on Saturday, May 23, from 3-4 p.m. PT. May the best mess win! http://Ninten.do/62687f4w

Where the hell did this come from? Why couldn't they have worked with phone manufacturers first?  "Anywhere" placement along w/ the whole royalty/license-free bit are pretty nice features.

edit: oh wait, those dots are actually exposed contacts? eh...
Open Dots Alliance will announce its first user consortium at the Ward’s Auto Interiors Conference this week in Detroit.
