End of an Era for Lilycot Holiday Cottage

Rachel & I have decided not to continue to rent out our home Lilycot (from the end of this season 2017). We would like to take this opportunity to thank all our guests that have have stayed in Lilycot. During the eight years we have been renting, it has allowed us to continually update and improve our home and given us the opportunity to discover more of Torquay, Torbay, and the surrounding area. In addition, as we have been camping most of the time it's allowed us to experience the wonders living outdoors in the elements, and the joy of the ever changing changing seasons.

We have also nearly completed walking the Southwest Coast path, which has been a truly amazing experience for both of us, and we are now planning to continue onto Wales and the rest of the country. Thank you all again, we could not of done it without you!

In the future we may decide to rent out Lilycot as holiday cottage again. If you would like to be kept informed please go to for more information.

Meadfoot Beach Torquay

Recently Rachel and I enjoy a day off in Torquay. We parked our car opposite the Little Theatre and strolled down to Meadfoot beach for breakfast at the Meadfoot Beach Cafe (a very fine & reasonable breakfast is was too!). From there we continued onto Anstey's Cove beach via Ilsham Marine drive where Rachel had a swim, after which we had a cold beer from Anstey's cove cafe. Being a Wednesday is sailing day. From Anstey's to find shade to the harbour we walked via Wellswood and followed Higher Erith road through the Lincombes. How lucky we are...

Torquay & Torbay are perfect destinations for sailing holidays. The bay of Torbay is a perfect place to sail and has a fantastic coastline to explore. To the north of Torbay is Exmouth, and Teignmouth. To the south we have the port of Dartmouth, the river Dart and further south, Salcombe and the City of Plymouth. Torbay has two marinas, one in Torquay and the second in Brixham.

Rachel & Daryl are writing a new book called "It's About Time".

#itisaboutime #time

With all the stress that goes with living in the 21st Century, many of us find we haven't got enough time. We all seem to be rushing around like headless chickens, in an unclear direction, with no free time to do what we want.
It's About Time will be a useful and resourceful tool to us help make sense our time, put us back on track with our purpose, passions and personal fulfillment, but most importantly to enable us to create more free time! It's About Time

Babbacombe Torquay.

Whilst on holiday at Lilycot, visiting #Babbacombe and Babbacombe Downs is a must. As the crow flies Babbacombe is only about five hundred yards from #Lilycotholidayhome . Whilst on the downs you'll find loads of places to eat and drink. Or you can either walk down to #Oddicombe or Babbacombe beach, or you can take the Babbacombe Cliff Railway to save your legs!
For more information on Babbacombe and things to do whilst on #holiday at Lilycot please follow the link.

Fresh Pickings
Fine fresh pickings from our Barton allotment in #Torquay. We're lucky to be able to grow food locally, and this time of year we have variety in abundance! Rachel has planted mainly perennials so it's easy to manage and provides us with interesting healthy goodness! Please help yourself to what ever you can find in Lilycot's garden, you'll find plenty of fresh additions if your on a #selfcatering holiday?

St. Marychurch Precinct has everything you need for your #selfcateringholiday at Lilycot holiday cottage.

The St. Marychurch precinct is unique as it has a rich variety of independent local traders. We feel very privileged to have the precinct right on Lilycot's doorstep, and we support our local shops and traders as much as possible, as today this very rare thing and we want to hold onto i!
