I went to a rabbit show in Killeen, Texas last weekend. It was supposed to be a 9 hour drive, but because of Friday traffic and road construction, it ended up taking me 12 hours to get there. So, I skipped the Friday night show and got some rest instead.
I really liked the facility at the Killeen Special Events Center, which is very open and spacious. It was great to be able to get my rabbits to the show table without having to move through a shoulder-to-shoulder crowd.
I enjoyed visiting with fellow Angora breeders +Kelly Flading
and +P Ricardo Gonzalez
. I showed only three juniors who are not ready to be competitive, but they got good comments from judges Scott Rodreguez and Eric Stewart.
I am glad that I made the effort to go, and I will plan to attend next year too, with more rabbits.
