LIFT MINI CRANES ON A MISSION ....
Our latest mission involved a 2 tonne steel beam, and 3 spider cranes! The problem was that structural engineers had specified an enormous steel beam needed to be fitted to the underside of an opening to support the weight of the roof - for an extension to a property in the Warwick area. The access to the extension was limited to a path leading up to the house, with the nearest hard standing area over 20 metres away. And a Maybe propping system already in place prevented a telehandler or large plant from gaining sufficient access. We looked at the access, and the steel with a view of lifting from within the propped area, without trampling over the decorative slabs or lawn. We used a UNIX 095, a UNIC 295 and a MAEDA MC305. We tracked up the garden path and rigged each machine in the best possible position to ensure each crane could lift enough of the load simultaneously. The steel got lifted safely and the building continues... all this done in a short day. The possibilities are endless...
