Here is a selection of photographs taken over the seven days we were walking the Camino Ingles. The observant among you might notice the dates and realise that the first few, taken in Ferrol, were taken on the evening before we got down to business.

Blog number four on the establishment of Irish Water, probably the most expensive avoidable mistake ever made by an Irish Government

My fifth blog on Irish Water. By now you will realise that I am obsessed with what I see as the idiocy behind the establishment of Irish Water. In particular I remain astonished at the decision to install domestic water meters at a cost of €539,000,000 - in a country in which we so frequently complain about the rain.

Water charges can be defeated by logical argument - no need for abusive slogans.

Internet publisher to the Diaspora 1987 until retirement in 2012. Now have time to lose sleep over the way the country is being run and to walking the Camino.
Introduction
Co-founder with my wife Pauline of Irish Emigrant Publications, I started writing the email version of The Irish Emigrant in February 1987, as a voluntary service for colleagues who had transferred overseas. At the time I was working for Digital Equipment Corporation in Galway. I joined Digital as a programmer/analyst in 1974 and during my 20 years with the company I held a number of managerial positions in IT, Finance, Engineering and HR. I was born in Greenock in Scotland but spent all my school holidays in Moville in Co. Donegal. Pauline and I retired in February 2012 after publishing the 25th anniversary issue of The Irish Emigrant
