#SongADayFor5Days     [ Day 2]

Day 2 brings probably one of my most favorite pieces..besides the fact that Chick Corea & Bobby McFerrin are BEASTS

RECAP: If you want to participate, post five cool songs in as many days. Each day, tag three friends, in the hopes that they'll do the same to expand horizons, facilitate the tapping of toes, and continue the legacy of embracing the art of moving butts..

My 3 tags are: +Lamont Dozier, Jr. +Letif B & +Raphael DeLaGhetto

Just as I was harassed at 8 years old, baseball wunderkind Mo'ne Davis is a target of sexual shaming. Here's why

I think her people put her up to it, sadly. Her first statement was that she was very hurt by his comments and rightly so and her next line was about the reinstatement and him making a mistake. FOH you don't slip and call someone a slut.

Everyone is applauding her response but this makes me sad that she is thrust into the adult world of being a woman caretaker of others. Who takes care of Mo'ne? Who acknowledges her pain and potential scarring? Who will take another man to task for sexualizing a CHILD (bc the word slut is sexual in nature and origin so to put that on a child means he has assessed her sexually on some level); everybody brushed off when someone called Quavenzhane, who is even younger, a cunt.

When do Black children get to be CHILDREN? He's being called a kid who made a mistake but the same luxury is not being afforded to Mo'ne. I'm not saying she needs to fall on the floor and be "woe is me" but people are once again disregarding the actual YOUTH of Black children.  Plenty of research supports that people see Black children as way more mature and older than they physically and mentally present as (the cop thinking Tamir Rice was 20 years old is proof enough).
