What do you do when you find a lost Da Vinci mural hidden under a Vasari mural? Do you destroy one work of art to uncover the work of the earlier artist? And how did Vasari feel about painting over a Da Vinci?

There are hints that Vasari wasn't entirely happy about it. Researchers found "Vasari himself left a tantalising clue on his painting about the hidden Leonardo with an inscription on a flag held up by one of the soldiers in the battle that reads "Cerca Trova" ("Seek and You Shall Find")."

I saw the documentary on this a few years ago. I was enthralled! Definitely interested to see how this plays out.

I read a cracking screenplay about a heist of the mural. Great stuff, but it relied on the existence being only a little-known theory...

Davinci murals have bad luck. The Last Supper is a mural. Do you know why there's an oval on the front of the table? The monks cut a doorway through it because they needed it and weren't that big of a fan of it!
