covered Brazil, Bolívia, Colombia, Peru, Paraguay and Argentina, on February 21th, covering an area the size of Europe, without using any VRLA, relying instead on more connected fields and swift key exchange.
Planned for months, it started with just the central fields, but quickly grew when agents on the far portals started to add their own connected fields to the plans, as the operation started to get a continental proportion.
@Iraque and @Russia are twin brothers, both very active and accomplished fielders, and as @Russia was very close to L16,@Iraque started to idealize that operation as celebration of reaching L16 on their birthday.@Russia reached L16 earlier, and by them the op, with over 100 agents involved was about way more than that.Agents from most part of north Brazil, Bolivia, Colombia, Peru, Paraguay, Argentina...
Those hundred agents were divided into teams, and it would be impossible to describe all the awesomeness that went into bringing this up. To destroy blockers,@Iraque, drove about 3.200 km (2.000 miles) from Sao Paulo to Paragominas, crossing Brazil, destroying block links, from both factions, and a mega field from Resistance. After that @Iraque drove again from Paragominas to Goiania and then Formosa and back to Paragominas, to a grand a total of 3.800 km (2.350 miles). All tther cells worked as hard on other blocks in the northeast cell, north cell, Bolivia cell and others. On the D day all agents were very excited, as the sheer dimension of the plan meant that a new blocker could mean that all this effort would be for nothing. On Ouro Fino, SP, Brazil, where @Russia and 7 other agents were, all was ready to start the links in the morning of the 21th. First link. Second link. Third link, first field. And the operation started to be visible, and it was hard to hold the emotions, as you can see in the video. And we on that cell congratulated @Russia for his birthday. So we continued, second field. Third field. Fourth field. Fifth field. Each with near 6,000,000 MU. And more links came, more fields came and more blocks too, as it would be naive to imagine so many fields without last minute blocks. Emergency contacts with local agents to break down this blocks happened a couple times. Sadly, when we were almost done with all fields we could achieve, spoofers started to appear. And not just one or two, and repeatedly. These spoofers attacked portals more than 1500 km (1000 miles) apart on a straight line:@LaerteGyn, @Mhermannxx, @Mhermannxxx. Proofs were taken and submitted on the proper way. Fortunately attacks from them were mostly defended by our agents, so it reached the check point (as can be seen on this week's globe when you start ingress, as Brazil is all green).
We had a lot of issues, timezone, work time, distance, mobile signal even tide (on coast of northeast cell), but it was all worth it, and a great unifying experience, that only those that ever did a project this size will be able to grasp, and certainly no spoofer, forever alone, will ever understand.
We could not count exactly all MU we covered, but we estimated over 20+ fields with around 200 million MUs.
