Pedaling over to volunteer at the local bike coop I came upon a nice Honda driver who thinks honking your horn gives you the right of way. Pretty sure that Nokia's new spray paint wouldn't have helped. #cycling   #safestreets   #peoplebehavingbadly

+Florian L The Santa Ana River Trail (SART) parallels the train route in many places so I could grab the train if I needed to.

What happened to all the laid back, birkenstock, pilates, and medical maryjane lovers in LA?  They climb into a car and turn into wannabe Paul Walker's driving FAST and Furious instead of slow and mellow.   #StopTheCARnage   #slowthefuckdown

Parents!  Get your kids involved with drones.  They are going to be one of the growth jobs in the future. Oh, and they are fun!

Getting Started  -

Under doctor's orders to improve my health it all started with changing to a stand up desk.  My doctor told me to change what I eat and start exercising.  He didn't give specifics.  After a bit of research I went vegetarian, then vegan.  I liked cycling, so I bought a mountain bike with the goal of commuting to work.  That started a love affair with cycling.

I have bumped my collection of bikes to 5 and I just bought the wife an e-bike so she can tag along on some of the longer rides.

My weight has bounced around, but the good news is my blood pressure is no longer in the "You gonna die" range.

In the beginning I could barely ride 5 miles.  Yesterday I rode an 100km commute!  If you are considering bike commuting, just start riding, extend your range to the distance to work and you'll be on your way.

I owe my health to Dr Cannondale, and eat mostly vegetarian. Great success, pedal on!

Not only is she pretty, she's pretty FAST! We were trying to catch up with the group so +JoAnna Walters took the lead and towed me along at about 18-19mph.

5 stars for combining creative vegan food, beer, and a fun atmosphere. Try the sweet potato fries. #yummy

This has to be the shop with the largest selection of e-bikes in SoCal, maybe the country. We drove in from Redlands. We tried our LBS that had only 1 e-bike. Then we stopped at another store in Anaheim that had 10 bikes, but only the Pedego brand. Made it to Myron's (aka Electric Bicycle Center) and boom! We found what we wanted. The owner, Sam has several mfgs and dozens of bikes. Pricing from $500 to $5000+, there is an e-bike for every size butt and budget. Committed to e-bikes is the best description of the EBC. Sales, service and plenty of accessories to customize your ride. My recommendation is to buy a bike with the biggest battery you can afford, because you will need it when you start riding all over the place! What fun.

5 stars for offering a delicious vegan option. This isn't that typical corporate food with a meaningless (v) next to a menu item. You can dine with your omni friends without having to compromise your tastebuds.

We came at 9pm and they were closed. Hours listed closing as 9:30. We will try another time and rate the food then. Not off to a very good start.

Authentic Mexican food in a casual setting. Judging the crowd, it is apparently a favorite of locals. We were in town shopping and dropped in for a quick bite. This is not Chipotle. The neighborhood is a bit on the rough side. The food was only okay. Beans, rice, cheese, meat and tortillas are tough to screw up. A couple of things that were turn offs. First, no sour cream or guacamole. Not on the menu. Second the men's room was a disaster. If the restaurant management won't take care of part of the restaurant that the public has access to, what about the areas in the kitchen and beyond? (See pics) Not returning here when there are plenty of better options.

Can't wait for the new station to open. It will be so good to be able to take my bike out for longer trips with the assistance of Metrolink.
