To purchase your Phoenix Science Fiction and Fantasy 2018 Dates of Show are Mar 16, 2018 at 12 PM to Mar 18, 2018 at 12 PM. VIP PASSES via PayPal, click the Cart icon for your VIP pass option. This event serves as official notice that the next +Leprecon, Inc. Quarterly Board Meeting will be held Sunday 21 May 2017 at 3pm MST at Spoke & Wheel Restaurant, 8525 N. Central Ave, Phoenix, AZ, 85020, 602-870-8843. We will meet in one of their banquet rooms to the right as you enter the front door.

If you had an Attending membership in LepreCon 42 Annual Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention in June 2016, and you did not have any merchandise or artwork for sale at the convention, then per our bylaws you have a corporate membership in the sponsoring organization. Leprecon, Inc. is an Arizona volunteer non-profit corporation with federal 501(c)(3) tax exempt status. We will be voting on a bylaws amendment to remove the program book requirement for the annual board meeting notification.

If you cannot make this meeting in person, then you may send a written proxy specifying to whom you give it (who must physically attend), the date of the meeting and your signature. Mail it to: Leprecon, Inc., P.O. Box 26665, Tempe, AZ 85285-6665. It must arrive by Saturday 20 May 2017.

You may also send an email proxy by including the name of the recipient, date of the meeting and your name, but no signature required, and send copies to the Vice-Chairman, +Paul Tanton (paultanton@cox.net), AND to the Secretary,+Kevin McAlonan (kmcalonan@googlemail.com). It must arrive by Saturday 20 May 2017 at 11:59pm MST. If you do not receive a confirmation email back for an email proxy within 12 hours, then it is likely we did not receive it and you should resend if possible.

Telephone proxies have also been allowed and you must call at least one of the two board members above immediately prior to the start of the meeting so that both can verify your call. Once the meeting starts no more telephone proxies are allowed.

We will be voting on the one-and-a-quarter-year remainder of a three-year term director. At least one, if not both, of the directors whose terms end in August of this year have expressed interest in running for this position. If either should win, immediately afterward there will be another election to fill the one-quarter-year remainder of that directorship.

To nominate/vote for any eligible members who have attended at least three of the four previous quarterly board meetings, please send a separate email to the President, Dee Astell (chair@westercon70.org), AND the Secretary, Kevin McAlonan (kmcalonan@googlemail.com), indicating the date of the meeting, the name of the eligible member, and include your full name. Should you wish to mail a hardcopy version, please print this information out and sign your name, then mail it to the address above by the date given above.

It's time for another friendly meet up!  Come and go as you like for this casual gathering; folks are welcome to show up late, leave early, or whatever else fits your schedule!

No purchase is required; all ages are encouraged to just show up to discuss science fiction / fantasy / horror / steampunk art, media, costuming, crafts, literature, conventions, etc.+Leprecon, Inc. Vice-Chairman +Paul Tanton will also have a couple of casual genre games on hand for those that might be interested.

Your US$5.00 donation or higher gives you access to the first new workshop in a series of SMERFcon workshops started in the 1990s by Bruce Farr, +Leprecon, Inc. Treasurer. Social / Military / Educational / Recreational / Fraternal (SMERF) is the category hotels use to designate our type of science fiction / fantasy conventions. Donations may be made online using the button at leprecon.org/corp, or in cash at the door.

All proceeds above this event's expenses will go towards Leprecon, Inc.'s operating expenses. Donations are tax deductible to the maximum allowed by law. Should you wish a letter of receipt of donation, Leprecon, Inc. Secretary +Kevin McAlonan can mail you one if you supply us with your mailing address.

Leprecon, Inc. Chairman +Mike Willmoth will be presenting the workshop. Mike was Treasurer for World Horror Convention 1994, WHC1998, and WHC2004 where he developed the projection budget spreadsheet used successfully for these three conventions. It was also used by World Fantasy Convention 2004 which he chaired as well as Westercon 62 (2009, FiestaCon). He also passed it along to the Treasurers for North American Discworld Convention 2009 and Westercon 70 / ConAlope 2017/ LepreCon 43. Workshop attendees are encouraged to bring a pen and notebook for note taking as well as completing the workshop handouts.

Due to membership complaints that the board was not adhering to the bylaws regarding voting by members not able to attend the meetings, the board voted to change the procedure to conform to the bylaws. As such, we will be voting on a three-year term director as well as chief operating officers (C.O.O.s) for LepreCon 44 in 2018 and LepreCon 45 in 2019.

Westercon 70 / ConAlope 2017 / LepreCon 43 is pleased to announce our Author Guest of Honor: Connie Willis.

Connie is one of the most successful science fiction writers in history. She has won eleven Hugos (including three for Best Novel) and seven Nebulas, among many others; she has been recognised by the Science Fiction Writers of America as their 28th Grand Master and was inducted into the Science Fiction Hall of Fame in 2009.
