+Scott Bowers Yes, I agree with you ... but it's important to see that these other bloggers are acting out of fear, not out of bad intentions. They are acting this way because everyone else is doing it, and so it seems normal, and doing anything different is scary. I feel for them, but think we should try something different.

Thank you for the tips, Leo; they were great reminders for me. I can easily get distracted when I'm trying to focus on a specific task so I continuously remind myself to be mindful of when my mind has gone astray and quietly bring it back:)

This is exactly what I needed. I'm working on my capstone project for my B.A. and at times it's hard to see an end in sight. Reading this completely changed my mood, and I found some of that happiness that I keep bottled up inside. I can do this.

When I FINALLY learned this such a tremendous weight came off my chest. I simply don't freak out over stuff like I used to, or at least only once in a great while. Further, I believe that everything happens for a reason, so I don't get as anxious or stressed out as I used to. I feel comfortable in my skin as my own person, and what others think of me is mostly inconsequential.

Do you realise how many insects and rodents die so you can live your vegan lifestyle? Until we start growing food in biochemical vats things will die when we want to eat.

Eating meat is just more immediate, a cow dies so I can eat a burger, however when you're drinking your soy latte and eating a mung bean salad, things have died and suffered so that you can have that.

The simple reason being, there are over 7 billion of us and if any significant proportion of people decide to eat a certain way then that will lead to mass environmental change, like the leveling of billions of acres so that soya can be grown, what about all the animals that lived on that land beforehand, what happens to them? What about the birds that fed on the insects and rodents that have all been killed by pesticides?

We are part of this ecosystem which means that until science give's us an alternative we live by the same rules as any other omnivore, ergo when I eat, something has had to die.
