I'm going to Sydney!
Has anyone been? What should I make certain to see while I'm there?

I tend to prefer things that are a bit more obscure and off-the-beaten-path over more popular tourist destinations.

Finally getting around to uploading photos from Japan. More to come (also from Greece, Switzerland, France).

In the meantime, here's a cat we met on the way to Jizo-in Temple, a quiet, lovely garden temple.

Has anyone I know been to Greece?

Can you suggest anywhere I should visit given 9-10 days?

I watched this about a year ago:
Battle of Thermopylae - Last stand of the 300 Spartans

It made me want to visit greece.  The telling is over dramatic but the story itself is riveting, especially the endgame, after the "defeat" at Thermopylae.

Seems useful for bikes in SF (so long as you can get the cops to intervene once you share the GPS info).
The smallest, longest-lasting GPS tracker in the world. But it does WAY more, and all on a new nationwide network with no monthly fees.

Starfish are dying by the millions up and down the West Coast, leading scientists to warn of the possibility of localized extinction of some species. As the disease spreads, researchers may be zeroing in on a link between warming waters and the rising starfish body count. Continue reading →

Two things make this car wash a cut above the rest: First, the self-wash machines take credit cards! So nice to be able to avoid pockets full of quarters or worse, car wash tokens. Second, the machine has a powerful blow dryer cycle - This increases the price of the wash because it takes a while to dry, but it's nice to ensure a spot-free finish. It's also very nice that it's open 24/7. I've never seen a line, though I tend to go on weekday evenings and not weekends. I prefer thrifty to the other self-service car washes in the area - it's clean and bright where others are sketchy and run down.

Excellent coffeeshop for playing board games. Big tables and no wifi mean there's usually room to spread out. They also have couches and comfy chairs where you can curl up with one of their many magazines or a good book. Some recommendations on what to drink: -The coffee itself isn't amazing, but it's reasonably good. -I don't recommend their mochas since they taste like they're made with low-grade syrup. -They make a lovely flavored lemonade.
