I remember our neonatologist telling me that although it was important to be there for the babies, I need to take care of myself too. He didn't want to see me trying to be SuperMom in the NICU.
I quickly realized it would take me awhile but I needed to figure out how to implement good self-care.

On Monday, after a quick trip to Target and a doctor's appointment for three abysmally late well checks, I dropped the girls off for their first day of YMCA day camp. It felt all kinds of weird and...

I'm the new Online Community Coordinator for local nonprofit Hand to Hold! So much inspiring info from this #NICU  community.
Born as a preemie with a tracheal esophegal fistual (TEF), this professor didn't know what his parents endured for his health until the birth of his son.

I'm so sorry, Tracey. Letting go of a pet is so hard.
In the fall of 1995, I had had a really crappy day. Like, WHOA, shitty-shitty, crappy. To be honest, I cannot remember why. It might have been that the classes I was taking at the community college weren't all quite as inspiring as their paragraph descriptions in the course booklet led them to ...

Congrats to Preemie Babies 101 contributor Kayla Aimee on the release of her new book, Anchored: Finding Hope in the Unexptected! Enter to win one of 3 copies and a beautiful print! #giveaway   #NICU
The heart of my story centers on my journey to motherhood, the one in which I found myself joyfully pregnant after years of infertility only to then give birth unexpectedly at just 25 weeks. We named her Scarlette and she weighed one pound, eight point six ounces. And even though she weighed less than six sticks …

Plenty of seating so you don't feel rushed to finish that fried avocado taco. And bonus: there's a playscape just around the shopping center so kids can burn off some energy while parents sit and moan over having eaten too much delicious queso.

Great place to bring your four legged friends. I only wish there were bathrooms. Portapotties even! But there are some heavily trees areas. Do what you will with that information.

Huge outdoor seating area with live music and great food. Kids can play on the playscapes while parents relax with a beer.
