Secret basement lair command chair is slowly getting there.

(Almost entirely built from recycled left-over IKEA pieces.)

Author's Chair, Desk, Computer
* The Chair is a spaceship in disguise, and to operate the computer you must be sitting in it. Computer settings: 0 - changes the colors of the Universe. 1 - changes the colors of your control panel. 2 - changes the amount of perspective. 3 - changes the speed at which time passes. 4 - allows you to delete any planet from the system.
Destroy the computer and the entire solar system comes apart.

Every exploit needs a catchy name, or how was it?

Let's see how this goes then.

Oh, that wasn't a complaint. I think even +Romain W would approve of the selection.

attacking the attack map.
As security breaches increasingly make headlines, thousands of Internet security companies are chasing tens of billions of dollars in potential revenue. While we, the authors, are employees of Internet security companies and are happy for the opportunity to sell more products and services, we are alarmed at the kind of subversive untruths that vendor "spin doctors" are using to draw well-intentioned customers to their doors. Constructive criticis...

10 unbelievable titles you didn't know could increase the audience for your academic papers

Number 1:
Abstract: We give bounds on the average fidelity achievable by any quantum state estimator, which is arguably the most prominently used figure of merit in quantum state tomography. Moreover, these bounds can be computed online---that is, while the experiment is running. We show numerically that ...

Today was my last day at the National Supercomputer Centre at Linköping University. After 13 years. I have... feelings.

So cute! (Even if it looks like a puppy designed by H.R. Giger.)

You may remember Boston Dynamics' "BigDog" robot, the size of a sort of mechanical pony and kind of terrifying. But they're working on other things, as well: here's their "LittleDog," a project in conjunction with USC, which is learning how to walk over difficult terrain. Having grown up in the mountains myself, I love watching a small creature gradually learn to be a mountain goat.
