What a great compilation of ideas for dealing with bike congestion.

Just starting into photographing with the new Huawei Mate 9. No telephoto and sulpher-crested cockatoos don't like attention. Not bad though if you take into account that this snap had to be cropped to 25% of original to get this composition

Not a great photo but it makes a point: a worker’s 4x4 all flagged up for the National celebration of Australia Day in the capital city, Canberra. Its a General Motors Holden Colorado manufactured by Japan’s Isuzu Corporation in Thailand and designed in Brazil. Local content: marketing and blind enthusiasm

I love her far horizons... Only a few kilometres north of Canberra is the chameleon Lake George. It can be a rolling plain dotted with cattle for decades then, due to a good rainfall year like 2016, transform into a vast 25km long lake enabling water sports where barbed wire fences become navigation hazards http://www.canberratimes.com.au/act-news/by-george-that-disappearing-lakes-returned-20160911-grdou1.html

One of the major themes of public chatter as we head into 2017 is 'fake news' and the current fashion that it is somehow play to fabricate. The wonderful Wall Street Journal article ( http://graphics.wsj.com/blue-feed-red-feed/ ) pointed out just how screwed up the public debate can be by this movement.
Plainly we need everyone to have better BS meters. Here is a really good example of an article that navigates the reefs of fact and fiction well. It is on a subject well removed from today's political scene...but fascinating right to the last para. I offer it as a small Chrissy present
