I'm currently staying in Bellevue and when I joined Enlightenment two days ago it was firmly Resistance territory. The center of the operation was one of the Bellevue post offices; every other portal was linked to it. So on Wednesday I made it my first target, using up all my L1 XMP's. The damage I did was slight... I only took down one of it's resonators. But I vowed that day to return.
Fast forward to this afternoon, when I noticed that another Resistance portal on the periphery of the control field was under attack. The attacker got it down to a single resonator but appeared to run out of steam before he could take it. I checked again a little later and it appeared as if the resonator had degraded and was no longer present. The portal was unclaimed! So I suited up for the rain and headed out. On arriving I did my first portal capture, placing down my L1 resonators and some portal shields. There were no Enlightenment portals close enough for me to link to, but this whole thing gave me enough AP to bump me to level 2, thus making my L2 XMP's open to me. And so it was back to the first post office!
Thoroughly soaked, I made my way back to the scene of my original attack. Taking shelter by the entryway to the post office, I began firing off my XMP's. Resonators started to fall... but before I could finish, I ran out. Frantically, I hacked the portal, desperately hoping to find some useable XMP's but I found none. I then turned to the internet for help, hoping to find a new passcode I could use. And I found one that gave 4 L2 XMP's! I hurriedly entered the code into my phone, acutely aware of all the people going in and out of the building... any one of them could have been a Resistance member there to reinforce the portal. With the passcode entered and the XMP's obtained, I continued firing... and destroyed all but one of the resonators and destroying four links and four control fields in the process. Bellevue was free from Resistance control!
All that remains is to gather more XMP's to return to the portal to continue the attack. Even now, I see other Enlightenment agents working to take back the perimeter of Bellevue so that we can set up our own control field, but the important task... removing the control fields over the city... has been well and truly accomplished.
