Ideas

You may have noticed I've not posted to the blog recently. I have written you an entry, and today it's on Larp.guide. My original posts have been going up here for a few weeks now, and it felt like a sensible place to put new ones as well. Let me know what you think!

I’m pretty rubbish at creating good costume for me to wear for an event. I usually have ideas that are for something better than I can actually pull off, or I want such a specific look that there’s no way I can manage it. I have once managed to put together a really nice set …

I never read any of your articles I disagree with. I would love to collaborate with you on a LRP project some day, because I like the fact that you too, think about the form just that little bit too much (BWIM, thee right amount).

Roleplay - If you don't like it LRP probably isn't for you.
Everyone has role play traits that annoy them. For me, it's people saying huzzah and using archaic terms. It jars and feels unnatural. Its not what I'm there for. There's been a post on Reddit suggesting that there are no good games that combine combat and ...

Talking about LRP
The best exchange of LRP ideas happens face to face. For me this normally ends up meaning in the workshop. Good conversations happen in places like pubs, at events people are monstering, and anytime you put a group of LRPers in the same place and they’re no...

I meant boffer, not bigger, alas. The one I am on plot for (Dust to Dust), is 60-80 people; Eclipse (sci-fi) is around 30-40. Nero can get into the hundreds. DtD is... decidedly plot heavy... http://ruleof3.net/dtd/html/setting.html

Story
Introduction
I spend most of my free time involved in LRP in one way or another. I part own and run Mandala Studios in Coventry and have been running games through them for 5 or 6 years. I also crew Empire LRP. I have catered a variety of events and banquets and the events I run are a mix of genres (SciFi, Fantasy and stupid - next year I'm running a dinosaur event).
